Returned Saturday from my first visit to WDW Food & Wine Festival. Brief highlights:
- The weather (10/2-10/9) was absolutely perfect: sunny, warm with clear skies every day.
- Crowds were higher than I had anticipated.
- Our Grand Villa #1207 was a perfect location (building closest to Downtown Disney) with a stunning water view (directly across from Fulton's Crab House). Location and view were really lovely -- couldn't be better!
- Our group consisted of three couples. Each felt the GV offered sufficient space and privacy. We had no issues of noise between rooms (or from other units) and often couldn't tell if others in our group were "home." (Seriously, we sometimes lost people inside the unit!)
- Bus schedules were generally favorable. The one time we experienced a long'ish wait (SSR>Epcot, 12/8 at 10:30a) a uniformed Disney official came out, apologized to the folks waiting and remained with us until a bus arrived.
- F&W was "ok" -- but I'm not yet sure if I'd do it again. One lesson learned: The big events are on Saturdays -- keep these free!! (We were flying in on Saturday 10/2 and flying home on Saturday 10/9; this prevented us from attending the best events!)
- Downtown Disney is a serious asset! One of the couples in our group moseyed to Downtown Disney every day and really enjoyed the easy access.
