We returned from a week long vacation to the World yesterday... We were there for Spring Break, 3/16 - 3/23. This is a very popular Spring Break time, so I was mildly concerned about crowds.... But things were fine! yes, the parks were squishy now and then, mainly at the beginning of the trip, but lines were very doable. Getting food often took longer than attraction lines. We used FP to the max and the longest we waited was 50 minutes (for Buzz, posted time was 30 minutes, but something broke down and we waited it out).

I am going to do a mini-TR listing what we were able to accomplish each day and how we did it. Look for that one the TR board if you are interested. We went on every ride we wanted to, most of them several times. Many rides were still walk ons. Rope drops were nuts, but once we got to our chosen attraction, things went quickly and smoothly. We were not nable to tour directionally like we are used to - there was lots of criss-crossing the park, but that was fine with us. People in general were in great spirits and I didn't see anyone getting cranky in the crowds.

CM interaction was minimal.... We have always gone during off-peak times, and I think the CMs are just too crazy-busy to engage in conversation, etc. It was also hard to find a CM with the time for a pin trade. We felt bad asking a busy CM at a shop, ride, eatery, etc.

I thought of the DIS every time I saw someone with an old refillable mug, and I saw LOTS! I saw some very old mugs - the big fat ones, old old resort mugs, YOAMD dreams, mugs. People filled them up right in front of CMs and I never saw one person bat an eyelash. I think we get more worked up over it than Disney does.

Parades were good overall - I do not love the new Celebrate a Dream Come true parade as much as past parades. The performers are very talented as always, but their costuming and make up, etc is not very attractive, IMHO. Some of these very pretty girls were kind of made up to look masculine, I thought. I also heard this voiced by several people around me. I kept hearing people ask, "Are those men in drag?" Spectro, Wishes, IllumiNations and Fantasmic were fabulous as always. I also really enjoyed the block Party bash in DHS - very energetic show!

Feel free to ask any questions!!!

I just got back from a spring break trip to WDW too. I thought it was nuts. Lines were hour plus (for the more popular rides) and since the crowds were so heavy, getting to the park at opening was only minimally helpfull because several thousand of your closest friends had the same idea.

As usual the performers were great and Phantasmic was another favorite I enjoyed. Would have loved to to the Hoop-De-Doo again but there wasnt time or budget.

Bottom line: Lesson learned, Spring Break is for those who have no alternative. Next time I will get more creative with booking a trip.

I'm glad you had a good time. I hope the CM interaction improves before my trip next month for pin trading lol :) If not my husband will not be happy.

I'm glad you had a good time.

We left the day after the spring break crowd came in and I'm so glad that we did. On our last day 3/13 at MK it was nuts. We were planning on staying all day and night but we just couldnt handle the craziness of it all and called it an early night. I'm glad we were able to experience WDW without the crowds the rest of the time though.

I agree about some of the "preformers" As a matter of fact I really don't think any of the princesses my dd had her pictures taken with were all that pretty. There was a couple, but that's it.
