Surprisingly crowded (but it is school vacation week here in MA and no other local theme parks are open yet). Only open 12-6 on day we were there. Weather was an unusual 90 degrees. Some food stands not open so others pretty crowded, particularly the shaded sit down areas. Most rides open but water park and Batman closed.

Found Six Flags staff very friendly and impeccible about checking heights and enforcing safety policies (understandable after last year's fatal accident on Superman). Rides appeared to be in good working order but some could use some fresh paint. Otherwise thought the park was very nice with a good assortment of rides, food stands and gift shops. Lots of people walking around with WDW hats and backpacks!

Parking at Six Flags was difficult. We were on Six Flags grounds 1/2 hr before opening and it took us 15 minutes just to get on the road that leads to the parking lot. The kids and I ended up getting out while DH parked the car. We didn't meet up with him for almost an hour since it took him a long time to park and there were very long lines to get into the park itself. I suggest getting there at least an hour before opening, and make sure you have clear directions in hand if you've never been there before.

There was also a HUGE line to have your picture taken for a Season's Pass. Luckily we didn't need to stand in that line but if you do I suggest getting there as early as you can so you can be among the first in line. (As we were leaving there was still a huge line).

Re: hotels in the vicinity. We booked the Holiday Inn which looked nice from the link from the Six Flags website. We've never done such a thing before but we ended up checking out and going over to the Sheraton downtown which was pretty nice with an Entertainment rate of $99, even last minute. The extra $30 was worth it.

Hope this information might be helpful to someone. Any questions I can answer I'll try. :flower:

We love to go to six flags NE. Just an FYI on the hotel we usually use priceline and get the Radission (now the Wyndam) for about $40 a night. It's in Enfield, Ct which is right across the CT border. It's a really nice hotel with a heated pool , a lounge, room service and free shuttle to the park. We are season pass holders and I renew online so we don't have to wait in line when we get there. I'm glad you had a good time. We are leaving for WDW in 2 days so DH didn't want to go to SF this week. DD and I Love Superman
