Just back from Sept 15th MNSSHP - pictures

We were standing down in the rose garden for the fireworks... there was no witch, no Tink, no anybody to fly down...

...But - as someone else said - it may have been because of the weather - though it didn't rain during the fireworks.

It doesn't need to be currently raining for them to cancel whoever is flying down. If the storm is still in a 10 mile radius, they will not have the person fly down. It's simply a safety precaution.

Anyway, I just back today...we, too, were at MNSSHP on Friday. It did seem considerably more crowded that night than it was during the days at MK that entire week. But rides were pretty much a walk on event, regardless. However, our experiences with the whole wristband thing were very different than what the OP experienced. We were only checked for a wristband one time, and that was by a CM at a random location who commented on our costumes...let us walk past and then called out "oh, you had a wristband, right?" But before we could even show her, she just turned back around and continued doing whatever it was she was doing. So correction, we actually were not checked for wristbands. And before someone says she might have seen them on our wrists and that's why she didn't wait for us to show them...nope. There's absolutely no way our wristbands were visible unless we lifted our costume sleeves up for that specific purpose. We found most CMs at their checkpoints just chatting away with each other...no one checked anyone for wristbands anywhere from what we saw. We got to MK at 6:30pm...one side of Main Street was for people coming in and the other was for people leaving. We headed over to Cosmic Rays for a quick dinner and found PLENTY of people just sitting there without wristbands on. We also saw many of those same people in the park well into the party....getting on rides, sitting at the parade, etc. It seems like they knew to just hang out somewhere until they knew CMs wouldn't bother checking anymore...not like we were really checked anyway. In fact, when I was in line to get a MNSSHP pin at the Expo Hall, there were 3-4 people in line without wristbands that were told "oh sorry, you need to have a wristband to purchase these." No comment about needing to pay for the party, no escorting them out...nothing. I was in line for the pin at about 10pm. I still had a blast and enjoyed myself thoroughly...really the only reason I was keeping a watchful eye is because I wanted to see how true to their word Disney would be about "rigorously checking wristbands." As I suspected, we saw CMs simply turn a blind eye. That's not to say that the park was overrun with people who stayed for free...most people did have wristbands. All in all, it was a terrific night and something I would gladly do again. It was just hard for me and DH to simply not say "I told you so."

Wondering if people where coming in at 4pm with costumes on? or did they only have them on after 7pm?

Did the majority of people have costumes on? adults in costumes?

I've never been to MNSSHP. But after reading about the party I'm dying to go!

We were also there on Sept 15th. I thought it was crowded. This was our 3rd year at MNSSHP and I thought the most crowded we have seen it. We rode alot of rides. The rides were not crowded but everything else was. The parade was the best I have seen. We had a great time.

Question...I have a Cp ADR for the 20th..are the pics you posted of Goofy chip etc in costume from LTT....if so what is the food like for that party/ I have never eaten there but costumes look great. Did anyone eat at CP the night of the party? where the characters dressed up?Thanks???

ok, sorry it took so long, but here are some shots of the general atmosphere, and of the first (rainy) parade. I seperated them in case you want to be suprised by the parade Sorry, I did not get the headless horseman, as I was the only one in the park that listened and obeyed the "do not take flash pictures of the horseman as it spooks the horse" commands. (by he way, that horse was so calm that it Oogie Boogie himself wouldn't be able to spook it.)
I apologise for the crudeness of my web site, I just threw it togather this morning, and I'm still working on the slideshow scripts, also, I didn't edit or process any of the pictures yet, so they will look better in day or so... but anyway, here is the link:

We ate at LTT last year & I thought it was pretty good. It is like a Thanksgiving dinner. You are 1st served a salad with strawberry vinegar dressing & rolls. Then you are given a platter of meat with turkey, ham, & beef. Side dishes are mashed potatos with gravy, stuffing, green beans, & mac & cheese. Dessert was cherry cobbler with vanilla ice cream(I think now it is apple cobbler). My boys were given worms in dirt(chocolate pudding with crushed cookies & gummy worms), This is all you can eat.

The characters were great & came around often. Even the staffwas in costume(see picture in my sig). The characters at CP do not dress up, but the food is great there too! We will be eating at LTT again this year before the party.

I'd actually like to know this too. I'm planning on making the trip down and either going to the event on the 20th. I usually go to Knoebels Groves in Pennsylvania for their halloween event, but due to work training split between Ohio and Virginia in two different weeks, I can't attend. I spent about $500 on this costume and so I figured I'd hang out with a couple of my buddies down there and at least get some use out of it. Then again, I don't want to be the only adult (24 years old) dressed up either.

I've been looking at the pictures from Friday's MNSSHP and they are great! My only concern is that not many of the adults were dressed up. Having attended the party, is that what you saw as well?
DH HATES dressing up for Halloween. DS and I talked him into it for MNSSHP and if we get there and very few adults have costumes on, I'll never hear the end of it!

I have gone the middle of Oct and twice on Halloween night to MNSSHP. ADults do dress up..I think because its early yet a lot of adults weren't feeling the Halloween spirit yet.

We saw a number of adults dressed up...but we also saw a number of adults not dressed up. But you're definitely not out of place if you dress up...no one looks at you weird. Most people just look to check out what you're wearing. We also heard many adults (who weren't dressed up) comment about how they didn't know they could dress up too.

Great pics! The picture of Chip (or Dale) in a Spiderman mask was so cute...
