I just got back fron RPR. I spent 6 nights and had a fabulous time. We had two rooms that were adjoining. My husband ,son(8) and I stayed in 1 room and my daughter and friend stayed in the other. We arrived on Thursday the 17th and spent the day relaxing by the pool and walking around Citywalk. We ate dinner at Margarettavile , we ate on the deck and enjoyed the music and food. Ther was a woman on stilts who went around and made balloon hats and swords for the children. The next day we were off to the parks. We had the 5 day passes ( you can buy them on line $89an adult and about $76 dollars a child. Front of the line access can not be beat. I can not imagine going again and not staying on site after using the front of the line access. We all loved Men In Black , we had to keep going on . Back to the future made me a little queasy. We rdoe it twice during or stay, try to sit in the front seat it is easier on your head. Jimmy Neutron was one of the childrens favorite rides, this ride is tough if you get motion sickness. I solved the problem by looking sideways. We did this ride about 5 timmes over the stay. My favorite ride was spider man at IOA. that was a blast. We all loved the water rides!! Jurassic park river ride was too scary for my son, he kept his eyes closed at the end. The last time we went on it my husband lost his hat ,so hold on tight. The children loved the Mardis Gras at night. my son collected over 50 beads during our stay. We went off site one night to see Midevil Times, all I can say is WOW. WE all loved it. The resort was wonderful. Friday night is dive in movie night and my son enjoyed it. The girls went to teen night at the Groove. My husband met them at the door when it was over, we didn't want them walking around Citywalk alone at 11pm. It is late and I am tired but I would be glad to answer any ?'s. I forgot to mention I had the entertainment rate of $125 anight for both room. That gave us a water view room ( pool). Transportation was easy and fast. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We also were at RPR from 4/15-4/19 and just loved it. Sounds as if we did many of the same things. Stayed in Tower 3 overlooking pool at entertainment rate of $125. We also had 2 rooms adjoining for 2 adults, and 3 teens. Checked in at 1:00 and the rooms were both ready. Received Loews welcome gift of wine in 1 room and bottled water in the second room by 6 p.m. that night. Also received USA Today and use of Fitness room for free. The pool area is really beautiful, large, many lounges. I agree with you that front of the line IS THE BEST. Easter week and little if any wait-the teens were so happy that I didn't make them get up early to beat the crowds to ride the rides.-you didn't have to worry about that. We also received 10-20% off at every place we ate and bought merchandise using AAA card, just ask! [even at Cinnabons, which we'd buy and bring back to the room in A.M.} We then drove to Cocoa Beach for 5 days and had a great time. Stayed at The Resort on Cocoa Beach [ a condo]. You can walk for miles on beautiful flat sand. I also would be happy to answer any questions.

Mattkatie 7,
My DD ( 15 yrs) and her friend are dying to do the teen night at the Groove. I am hesitent. Was it well run..What night is it..cost...supervision? Any info to ease my mind would be appreciated.
Barbara

It costs $15 on a Friday night during the week it is cheaper. The $15 includes your first soda . Teens 13 to 19 are the only ones that can attend. My daughter and her friend are both 16, and they loved it. They said there were no problems. We gave them a cell phone so they could call if they wanted to come back to the hotel early or if they were in any way uncomfortable. They did not call so my husband met them outside the groove at 11pm to escort them back to the hotel. My husband could not get over how many teens were there. The doors open at .7pm and close at 11pm .My daughter said ther were a lot of security guards around. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anymore info and I'll get my daughter to answer your ?'s.

I'm so glad to read about someone's kid's going to Teen Night. My DD and her friend will both be 17 when we go and want to go. I was worried about it not being worth the money - i.e. - not much of a crowd. Thanks for the reports.

Hi my DD wil be 13 next year and she had shown interest in this teen night do u think 13 too young?:D

My daughter said that there were not many 13 year olds at teen night. She said if she had a friend it would probably be O.K.. I think I would wait until she is older if it was me.

hello all ~

Travelwoman, since you were at RPR @Easter time, how did you get the Entertainment rate?
I'm hoping to book the Royal Pacific for Easter 2004 and would appreciate any tips/advice about when the E rate becomes available.
Should I book the room now and then keep calling to see if the e rate can be applied to my ressie?

Here's hoping for a response! :smooth:

The entertainment rate became available around January. If you want you could book the room and just keep checking back to see when they offer the entertainment rate. I was able to book 3 rooms under this rate. They say you need a card for each room. I am going again Easter 2004 and will probably book in December.

Thanks for the response MattKatie7!

o.k. then, I'll book the room since it's such a busy time, and call to check when the e rate becomes available.

Will you be returning to the RPR?

My family stayed at the HRH in 2001, this next trip we'll stay at the RPR. I love checking out new places!

We wii return to the RPR. Loved the cost of 125.00 per night and the service. The pool was so warm. WE didn't go to the Hard Rock but did visit the PR. The PR kids pool was not as warm as the RPR. It did have a slide though.

Hi - thanx for the report

Teen night sounds great - I wish I could go :( my grey hair is a dead giveaway.

>>^..^<<

I enjoyed your report. I, too, have questions about teen night.

Is it held every night and at the same time each night or only on certain nights.

I have 14 and 16 year old boys. Would they enjoy it?

What do they do inside? Dance and eat? Video games/arcade? Numerous possibilities.

Also, for part of our vacation we will have five teens in the crowd. Boys: 13, 14, 16 15 One girl: 14 1/2

Would you say the 13 year old would have fun if they all went together?

Thanks so much for your (or anyone's) insights.

Teen night is only held on certain nights.Look on the Universal orlando web site,go to Citywalk, click entertainment and then the Groove for dates and info. The dates seem to be available for the current month. My daughter said she thinks everyone would have a great time. She said she did not see many 13 year olds, but if the kids would stick together and enjoy each others company they should have a good time. If you have any ?'s let me know and I'll ask my daughter. She really loved teen night.

Thanks so much for asking your daughter about it. I will go over and check the information.

Cindy
