Well not JUST back, we got back Tuesday. Stayed Saturday-Tuesday.
Had a lake view, first time on first floor. Still very relaxing but not as fun to see Space Mountain and the bungalows instead of the castle. We the 3rd room from the TTC end. On our MK day we actually walked over to TTC to get the express instead of going to GCH.
The room was gorgeous and very clean. We've been there 2x before on 3rd floor and it's always been nice.
GCH was nice, so empty! But Captain Cook's was kind of chaotic in the evenings. One night they had us order from the case and then pick it up, one night they bagged it up and then had us pay for it. The girl at the register didn't understand that I wanted to pay for my refillable mug. She kept sending me over to get it filled up.
I won't get into the parks too much except to say we rode eveything we wanted in a lot less time than usual. For example, Haunted Mansion in 3 minutes, Space Mountain in 10. Longest wait was Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway and that line is in the sun quite a bit, so be ready. Got boarding group 46 for ROTR and it is as amazing as it is built up to be.
Only thing we missed was trying the Skyliner, but there was weather coming in and it was closed. In fact, that was the night (Monday) there was a lightning strike at Galaxy's Edge. We were on the bus back to the resort when that happened. I heard ROTR was down the next day so I'm glad we rode the day before! In fact all 3 days we did parks until later and then couldn't swim when we returned because of storms. We did swim a little in the quiet pool the day we left because we didn't have park tickets.
On Magical Express it was just the two of us and one other family on a whole bus. We had plenty of time. In fact the posted security time at MCO was 3-7 minutes.
If you are thinking of a quick trip while the crowds are this low, I would say go ahead and do it. Everything is so very safe. And if your mask slips under your nose it won't be long until a CM asks you very politely to fix it.
Now to plan spring break...Poly again or should we finally try OKW?
