Well got back from Port Orleans Riverside (formerly Dixie Landings) here is my trip report, and its long:
NOTE: when reading this report, you should know that this was a relaxed trip for me and my DW
Day/Night 1: Arrived Thursday night (after being VERY sick in NY Wednesday, but didnt want to miss my WDW trip)at Orlando International Airport, picked up by Tiffany Town Car. They gave us our half hour supermarket stop, which was a great thing. We checked in, which took a little bit of time to do, it seemed longer than a regular hotel check-in. We got to our room, building 27 second floor, about 10:30pm we strolled the resort, got our refillable mugs, got drinks and tried to figure out where everything was (dont forget this is a spread out resort). We then went back to the room and had a good night sleep getting ready for the upcoming day in MGM.
Day/Night 2: Friday Morning, I got up earlier than my DW so I took our refillable mugs to the food court and picked up DW coffee while I got myself hot chocolate. We had cereal in the room for breakfast and called both our kids that we left at home. Then left on our way to MGM. The busses werent as crowded as Ive seen people post about on these boards. We ran to get a Fast Pass for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and in the meantime we went to the Great Movie Ride. NOTE: They are putting up the new 100 years icon (The Sorcerer Mickey Hat) and its blocking the entrance to the Great Movie Ride. We then ran over to Tower of Terror, and I convinced DW who hates scary rides, to go on with me, it was great!!! (even though her head was buried in my arm the WHOLE time. We then saw it was time for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, so we went there and played it. At the end we did a little shopping, and then ran over to Epcot.
At Epcot, we first went first to see the six Leave a Legacy tiles I did with my kids last time I was there, it took sometime for them to find them at the station, but we finally did, at that point, DW was very hot, so we shot over to the Refreshing station by Coke and had a few drinks, we then headed over to Test Track, I again Convinced my wife to go, but when we got tho the actual car, she took the chicken exit out. (This was the first time for me to ride it, so I really didnt know what to expect) We then went halfway around the World Showcase and came back around, because I was just getting tired and still feeling a little sick, I went once more on Test Track, and then we headed back for our room (this was about 6:00pm).
We got back to our room, ate dinner (we brought all our own food for the whole trip, which was great, because at this resort they have microwaves at the food court that anyone can use), we took another stroll around the resort, and then went in to go to sleep (hoping to feel better in the morning).
Day/Night 3: Saturday Morning, Again, I got up earlier than DW, Got coffee and hot chocolate with our refillable mugs, and ate breakfast in the room, but today after we ate breakfast, we ran to Ol Man River, the main pool of this resort. After taking a few dips, I left DW lounging at the pool, went to the room to get our Refillable Mugs and a packet of Microwave popcorn, as well as the ice bucket, I went to the food court, made the popcorn, put it in the ice bucket, and got some sodas for us, and we sat by the pool eating popcorn and soda. Later we went back to the room and ate lunch and then at around 8pm, we shot out by boat from the POR to Downtown Disney, where we did a lot of Window Shopping as well as had some Ice Cream at Giordellis (sp?) And then took a bus back to the POR at around 12:00 Midnite, We met a couple on the bus on the ride back, when we got to POR we just sat and spoke to them til about 1:30am. At that point we went to our room and went to sleep.
Day/Night 4: Sunday Morning, Again, I got up earlier than DW, got coffee and hot chocolate with our refillable mugs, and ate breakfast in the room, We then ran to MK, we rented a ECV for my tired legs, and rode right over to Space Mountain, My wife wouldnt go so I Went myself, at the end of the ride without me even thinking, my Little Cell phone popped out of my shirt pocket out onto the tracks. I ran out of the ride to a CM and asked them What I should do, they told me that at night, when the ride closes, they turn the lights on in the ride and check for any lost articles, they then bring anything found to City Hall. I ran to City Hall to make a lost article report and then continued having fun, went to Tom Sawyers Island, and then about 2pm I took DW to the DI bus because she had a 4 hour Spa awaiting her over there, and I had the rest of the day in MK Alone with my ECV. I went to find out where five of my Walk Around the World Bricks were so I could go see them, and then I rode over to main street and parked by the curb, getting ready for the Remember The Magic Parade. There must have been a problem, because it didnt start until 3:20 or 3:25, and when it did start after about 5 minutes the music stopped, and they had to restart the whole recording all over again. After it was finally over, I went over to Thunder Mountain and went to get a Fast Pass, after I got it a lady walked over and told me that I didnt need a fast pass, since I was in an ECV, just ride into the exit, and theyll let you right on, so I did that and with no wait, rode Thunder Mountain, I then rode over to Space mountain, and did the same thing, only in Space Mountain, I had to wait on a small line and then they detour you around everyone and let you in. At this point I stopped for popcorn and rode over to Ariels grotto to get some shaved ice from Scuttles landing right next door. I ate, and then rode over to main street to window shop again. After I was done, at about 8pm, I ran over to City Hall to see what they found, and they told me the stuff should be there by 8:45pm so I awaited the stuff as well as my wifes arrival from her spa treatment, and at about the same time they found my Phone my wife had come to meet me.
At this point, we went on the bus back to POR we went to heat up our food for dinner and get some sleep since Tiffany Town Car was picking us up at 5:30 am tomorrow for our 7:30am flight. While she was heating the food, I went to the end of the food court where the pin cart was, because I wanted the Port Orleans Resort Pin, but it was closed, and the General store didnt have it. I went to the front desk and told them my dilemma, that I was leaving in the early AM, and had no way of getting the pin, they went to the General store and had the manager open the pin cart for me just so I could purchase the pin I wanted.
Well, thats about it, the next morning Tiffany Town Car picked us up at 5:30am and we were on our way back to civilization
