Just back from POP

This resort is HUGE! We never even made it over to the other buildings to see what they looked like. Sad, but true!

Our check in took forever, 45 minutes with the CM working on my reservation only. Very frustrating. We didn't get any of the requests we submitted.
We were in the 80s (B) building, very close to bus stops. (2-1/2 minutes walk) We had no problem parking our car at anytime. In fact, I always saw open spots (and this is over MLK Weekend!) I think the parking problems may be over by the 50s buildings.

Maid service was excellent.

I noticed the small things about the room that made it enjoyable: 3 hooks on the back of the bathroom doors, the little shelf by the sink mirror, the shower massager, the shower curtain that matches the wallpaper, the fitted bedspreads, the excellent room darkening curtains that let in very little light, and the annoying fact that the TVs always reset themselves to Disney channels, complete with LOUD volume!

The food court always seemed busy. We only went for late night snack runs. I really like the section of "to go" items. They have boxes of Entenmanns donuts, bowls of fruit, desserts, and all kinds of things you can take back to your room. One of the best finds---large bags of Cheetos and Doritos (like you'd find in the store) priced $3.29 just like in the supermarket! (What? No mark up?) We'd take a bag in our backpack for snacking in the parks. What a deal!

Rather than doing Express check out, I was able to check out the evening prior (by 11:00). That way if my express ticket wasn't hanging there in the morning, I could leave and know it was all taken care of.

The 45 minute wait is a bit disturbing, which is making me a little nervous. But, pthere thatn that it sounds pretty good. I can't wait until it is my turn to experience the POp for the first time.

We were there last weekend as well. We checked in about 3:30 p.m. on Friday 1/16 and it only took about 10 minutes. There wasn't even a line.

Thanks for the report!! We only have 16 days left!!! I can't wait. I am a little concerned about my requests as it will be late in the day when we arrive. How was the weather while you were there?

The check in delays seem to be becoming a common theme in many of the threads and this, similarly, really worries me as we will be getting in very late - at around 11:30 pm with a 2 year old in tow and I would hate to have check-in take forever. It seems that the later in the evening the more trouble people are having.

We checked in at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday. There were only 2 people in front of me, the line moved quickly. But I think I got a new CM, who didn't seem to know what he was doing, and kept haveing to go to the back to "check with a supervisor". I would say half of the windows were open. When I returned Sat eve at 10:30 to check out, there again were only 2-3 people in front of me, and that was maybe a 5-7 minute wait.

The weather was great - Low 70s and sunny. We were prepared for cooler temps, so were very pleased. We even went swimming at Blizzard Beach! It was Tshirt and jacket weather. (Jackets for early a.m. and evening) I know this week it was suppose to get cooler - only in the 60s.

Interesting..we found them just the oposite. Although they were great for making sure no one could peak in, by that very design (away from the window with one side overlapping) we found way too much light getting in around the edges. Of course it was near daylight outside at night (by the foose ball field) I'm used to the pure darkness of their other resorts, once you get the curtains shut by overlapping a tad. I wonder if it was because we were by a well lit courtyard? Between the fat pillows (one replaced by them, another purchased at Walmart within a few days), the light coming in and the toilets flushing, good solid sleep was hard to come by, until we got used to all.

One hint..try not to get a conncecting door, if you don't need one..that too, sends noise your way if you have a noisy family next door.

They were very loud! It reminded me of our the bathrooms on a cruise ship. They are operated on pressure, so that makes them very loud.

We also asked for 2 flatter pillows! And they brought us three of them. Much better.

I agree, the first night's sleep was not very good. By the next night we were just plain tired!

We noticed a lot of toilet flushing too. DH said "they flush the toilet alot, they must not have one at home." Ha. I wonder if the design of the building is such that four rooms (two on opposite sides) are back to back with the bathrooms connected to make plumbing more efficient and that's why you hear so much. It couldn't be that much flushing just from one room next to you.
