Just back from POP

It makes me even more excited (as if that were really possible!!:earseek: ) about our check -in on FRIDAY!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc yes,4 more days !!!!!!! Wooohooo!!

We are in the preferred building, and like you, it is my daughter and I, with our neighbor and her mother (4 Jersey girls trip!!)

My trip is a surprise for my DD (6 yo), and I can hardly contain myself. The resort sounds really neat and I can't wait to eat tye dye cheesecake!!

Thanks again, Elizabeth, glad you had a great trip!

I will be picking her up from school early, and telling her we have to go somewhere, and we have to hurry. Since we are travelling with our neighbors (who Jordan just loves!!), she really shouldn't say too much, as we go places often together! Once we leave, she wil be too busy talking with our neighbors (Charlene and Mrs. Dinka ) to really notice the scenery. Once we get to the airport, I'm sure she will question, and I plan on asking her where we should go to get warm. We live in NJ and it has been extremely cold ( 9 & 10 over the weekend, high of 22!!) we just had this conversation one morning while waiting for the school bus, and when I asked her where we shoulg go to get warm she replied "South Africa"!! Well, we are going south, just not all the way to Africa!!!

The excitement is really getting to me! I can't wait to see her face when she realizes where we ARE going!! And I'm really just going to see how long it takes her to guess!

I've been packing all week, but instead of putting things in the suitcase, I've been putting them in a clothes basket in my room. After she goes to bed Thursday night, I'll put in suitcase, finish in AM after she is gets on bus, and put right in Charlene's trunk. When we leave, she will not see suitcases, so probably think we are going to Mall, as we usually do!!

I know she will be excited, even though it is a short trip. (It is more a quick fix for me!!!, and she gets to come along as my *reason* for going!!! Her oldest brother doesn't care ( 16 yo), but the next one will pitch a fit!! (13 yo) He doesn't know either!!
According to my DH, this is the longest time I have kept a secret!!
It has been lots of fun planning a secret trip, but probably will not do it again. We all enjoy the planning of our Disney trips, and probably only have one more whole family trip before college time comes. Since she has the longest time left at home, she and I will just have to go back alone, maybe with Daddy!!!!

I will let everyone know how we make out, and what her reaction will be. Look for posts middle of next week!!

Thanks for your great report! We are getting soooo excited, 3 more weeks!! Thanks for the tip about the pillows, I will have to try and remember to bring my own :goodvibes

Pryncess'mom, I'm bringing my 4yo to WDW in a few weeks and so far it is a surprise. I probably will tell him in advance (he's not at the best age to surprise, but if I tell him too early he will drive me crazy asking when we leave).

The funny thing was the reaction of my older children. My 10 was really excited for his little brother, my 13yo was a little jealous, but also excited for Jake, but my 16yo was green with envy wanting to go, too. Doesn't matter that she has a ski weekend right after I return and that she can't miss school to go to Florida. I think that she's just like me and hates to be left behind for anything!

Could you see any of the fireworks from the hotel? Im sure we will never be at the park that late so it would be fun to get to see them somehow.

Thanks

Hi Beth
We were at Pop the week after Christmas. We watched teh fireworks from Epcot everynight we were at the hotel at 930 from the 4th floor of the 50's building. We actually could see them very well.

I want to request a 4th floor room, but since smoke rises, I know they usually stick smokers up there. Are there non-smoking rooms on the 4th floor?

Thanks!

There are no fixed smoking buildings or floors. Smoking Optional rooms are set off in blocks, and scattered in different floors and different buildings. The majority of all rooms are non-smoking.
