We (DW, DD7, and I) are just back from our stay at the Polynesian. My wife isn't much for the internet, but she wanted me to tell everyone what a great time we had on our trip and what a great place the Polynesian is and what a great staff they have. We requested a room at the now non-smoking Samoa because it looked close to the pool. 5 big steps our of the patio door to the steps down to the pool area. That's pretty close, eh! I told my folks I could throw DD7 into the pool from the room, but they told me not too...:p Noise from the pool was never bad, and I am a light sleeper. We napped in the afternoon and it never kept any of us up...

The volcano pool is awesome. DD7 did the slide about 100 times a day. I did it several...

Captain Cooks was great and very convenient.

Ohana's twice for dinner, once for character breakfast, Kona 3 times - breakfast, lunch, dinner...

Watermouse boats were a great way to finish off the week. We went all over the lakes and got pictures from the lakes in front of all of them.

Rooms were a nice size, AC worked well (it was a humid week), captain cooks was a short mug run away.

Went to Wilderness Lodge to eat at the Whispering Canyon Cafe, it was beautiful. We visited some of the other resorts and DW says that we stayed not only at the right resort for us, but in the right room. Thanks to the Polynesian staff for a wonderful stay!:D :D :D

I want to make a comment here. Samoa is a very nice building. But it is also a small buidling. So if you request it, you may or may not get it. Remember a request is NEVER guaranteed. The staff will try to grant your wish, but if the building is already full you may not get this request.

Did you have sinks in the bathroom or outside bath? and were there 1 or 2 sinks, we will be there the end of July. Thank you for the info.

It was one sink and it was inside the bathroom. There were only 3 of us, but I could see any issue with more. We didn't have any problems, though...

All sinks at the Polynesian are in the bathroom. There is only one sink in the original eight longhouses. In Tahiti, Tokelau, and Rapa Nui there are two sinks in one vanity.

Glad you had such a wonderful time!

Always fun to read a positive report!

Thanks for the report. We are staying at the Poly next year for the first time--I cannot grab enough information from the boards!!!

Trip2Dis,

Welcome back and thanks for the report. Sounds like you had a great time.

LadyLt,

Actually Tokelau has one sink in most rooms with a few rooms with 2 sinks and even some ith the sinks and vanities outside the bathroom. These were experimental rooms that were built for them to test out different floor plans to see if they like the layout for the construction of Rapa Nui and Tahiti.

Aloha

Steve

We wanted to stay @ the poly, but couldn't swing it this time! We'll be sure to visit the Kona though! Thanks again!
