Just back from Poly concierge in Tahiti building (UPDATED: photos added)

Concierge does not check in at the GCH. Tell the bellmen at valet your name and that you are staying conceirge and they will take you to the building to check in.

Thanks TNMomof3,

Those would be rooms 3027 and 3028 for the lounge then.

Aloha

Steve

Just a note...all the longhouses have keyed entries. It's just that in concierge the longhouse is locked all day. The other longhouses are locked at night just like the laundry room.

OK, finally got the scanner up and running. Here are a few pictures that I took during our stay. The lounge pictures were just an afterthought as I was trying to finish up a roll before we left for the airport. I hope they are good enough for you to get some idea of the layout.

This is the table that the main food offerings were on. It is on the wall between the TV area, and where you go down the hall to the lounge rooms.

When you walk off the elevator there is a seating area with a big screen TV. This picture is taken from behind the couch. The table you see is where fruit, cereal, and cookies are set out.

This is a picture of one of the lounge rooms taken from near the window.

The same room, taken as you walk into the room.

That's about all I took of the lounge area, but here are a few others.

We really enjoyed the path to the TTC, and using the express monorial. The kids decided to take a rest.:D

Oh, thanks guys. :D We think they're pretty cute ourselves.

4our4kids, This is all from memory, but I'll do my best to list what they had.

For breakfast they usually had about 3-4 types of danish, english muffins, bagles, oatmeal, cold cereal, and mixed fruit (canteloupe, honey dew, and grapes). There was always milk, oj, skim milk, and apple juice.

In the afternoon, there would normally be 3 types of cookies, lemonade, and juice. For the kids there would be m&m's, gummy worms, and some fruit candy.

In the evenings there was always cheese & crackers, vegetables & dip, strawberries, fruit like canteloupe & pineapple, maybe a cold salad (I remember potato salad one night), wine, and the hot appetizer. While we were there Chef Dick made sticky wings, a hamburger/macaroni/tomatoe dish, chicken caesar salad, and nachos.

For dessert there were always around 5 different selections, plus cordials. A few I remember were chocolate mousse, coconut mousse, cheesecake squares, pineapple upside down cake...believe me...they were ALL good.;)

Always available were sodas, and bottled water.

I think Tikiman has a full list of what is usually offered on his website, but that's the best I can do from memory. You'll have a great time!

Thank you for posting your great photos! Your oldest dd looks just like my 6 yr old!! It sounds like you had a wonderful time! Did you do a lot of pre-planning with the concierge desk before your trip? Thanks!

Thanks for this information everyone. We're due there at the end of July and I was concerned if it would still be worth the money. Sounds like Disney has come through again.

We stayed at the Poly / Tahiti two weeks ago on the second floor, lagoon side, 2021. The room stunk. We had housekeeping come and spray but it just masked the odor, didn't eliminate. Would have moved if not for the view.

While staying concierge in the Hawaii building in 2001 there were refrigerators in the room as part of the service....are there refrigerators in Tahiti as well or does one need to request one?

Also, is there sound piped in the Tahiti area when the fireworks are going? And can you hear and see the EWP perfectly from the beach or is it off to the left a bit so that it centers in front of Hawaii.

Thanks for the replies!

Are the elevators located at each end of the Tahiti building? I'm still trying to figure out where the lounge is - east, west or middle. Thanks again!

Elevators in Tahiti are dead center of the building--no end elevators or interior stairs at all!

The concierge lounge and reception are on 3rd & 2nd floors, respectively AND are also dead center of all guest rooms.

There is NO piped in music for the fireworks. Further, a good many of the outdoor speakers are disabled due to the Hawaii refurb. It's difficult, at best, to find a "beach" location that has the music. Your best bet is the pool area near the bar--not an optimum view, but you get the music.

The refrigerators are in place in Tahiti. Ours did NOT work and it took around 12 hours to get it replaced. We were told by a maintenance staff member that the resort had purchased many new refrigerators and that they were "junk". They just didn't work at all. When ours was replaced it worked like a charm and was a better unit than we ever had in Hawaii! :D

I'm still catching up here--hoping to get my comparisons between Hawaii & Tahiti--it's been good to gain a bit of perspective since we've been home. I'm kind of thinking things through as I go about the day-to-day stuff at home! Hopefully soon though. . .

just wondering, how could there be no interior stairs. Wouldn't that violate fire codes? Lately I'm very conscience of knowing all emergency exits
