Just DH and I!!!! We had a wonderful time - we had booked a lagoon-view room, requesting Tahiti building (where we stayed during our wedding trip to WDW). That is exactly what we got! Fabulous view, and the room was lovely, as always. The resort had left a single red rose in a vase for us, along with a "Magic Moment" certificate commemorating our anniversary. Our room was always immaculate, and the Poly grounds were gorgeous. We loved the new pool area, although it was a little cold for a swim last weekend!!
One thing surprised me a litte - on our second night, DH was trying to take a nap before our dinner at the California Grill...and that man can sleep through an earthquake, let me tell you. Around 7 pm, a family checked in to the room next to ours, and they were unbelievably loud. There was one child with some sort of a musical instrument (a kazoo or similar) - she was running around playing it. A second child was out on the balcony screaming (and I do mean SCREAMING), "IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!!" OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I finally went out on the balcony and said, "Excuse me, could you guys hold it down a little for a little while? My husband's trying to take a nap." In reply, I got a sarcastic, "EXCUUUSSSE ME!!! SOOOORRRYYYY!!!" There was no decrease in noise level. One child promptly started crying/screaming in the room, and the other one went out in the hallway and started screaming/playing instrument/running up and down the hall. THIS woke up DH. I called down to the front desk and asked if there was anything that could be done about getting our neighbors to hold it down a little...and I was told, "No. They are not required to be quiet until 10 pm."
I swear, I am not the sort of person who expects to enjoy perfect peace and quiet at WDW. Really!!! I wouldn't even want it!!! I love watching all the kids down there have a great time, and I would NOT expect utter silence at a Disney resort. However, I have to say, this family pushed me to the very outer edge of my limits. That is the first time I have ever complained about neighbors in a hotel in my life. I was very surprised about this WDW resort "rule." I can understand that they want and need to be super-duper kid-friendly, but at what point does it become a problem? I am just curious if this has ever happened to anyone else - and what did you do to deal with the situation, if anything?
By the way, this absolutely did not diminish the great stay we had!! We will stay at the Poly again - and we booked the "come back" rate for AKL in November ($233 and change per night -including taxes - for a deluxe savannah view, can't wait!!!).
