Just back from POFQ

Overall, I love this resort! It is so nice to go back to a quiet place after a day with thousands of people. We were in bldg. 5, second floor facing the courtyard (exactly what I requested). Mousekeeping was adequate (not great). The beds were made, towels replaced, trash emptied and that was about it. Check-in was easy and quick. FYI - I had paid my one night deposit on my Disney Visa to get the discounted rate, however I did not have to pay with my Disney Visa when I got there. I put everything else on my Discover and still got the discounted rate. If you are going to eat breakfast in the foodcourt, get there before 8 am. Most days we used early entry and ate around 7. At 7 the place is next to empty, neat and clean. One day we ate around 8:30 and it was a zoo and a mess. Buses were great. The longest we waited was 10 minutes. Pool was clean and well staffed. They are very strict and make people adhere to the rules, which makes it pleasant for those who do without being told. I paid $89 per night and I got more than I paid for. It is not often you can say that!

We also just got back from POFQ. (April 18 - 24)
MK was very crowded on Monday but after that parks were VERY uncrowded. Monday was the day after the weekend after Easter
So I think there may have been some leftover Spring Breakers.

POFQ did not seem crowded. I did not use the Food Court much but passed through there each morning. It was never too crowded. Julma must have caught a bad time.

I found POFQ very pleasant. Some people say POR is "more lush" and that may be but POFQ is quite green with little green parks and shady "streets".

Some people are expecting a "new" resort after the rehab. That does not seem to be the case. The rooms seem completely refurnished and repainted, recaulked. This is the most important part of it. But, for instance, the iron railings that give the place its character were in need of paint -- and they were in the process of repainting (unobtrusively). This is not to say it was bad -- just obvious that the outside was not repainted during rehab.

Busses were sometimes shared with POR but if so POFQ is first stop. Most times going to and from anywhere POFQ was also last stop (ie the only one).

Amenities like bikes & boats & horse rides were only at POR but it is only a short walk especially from where I was in Bldg 7 (non smoking).
