Just back from POFQ...

We just returned from 9 days at POR. The CM who made my reservation noted that my younger son (turning 7), older son (turning 15), and husband would be celebrating birthdays during our stays (Their birthdays are all within a week of each other!!!). On our second day at POR, there was a signed Mickey card for older ds, who could have cared less about this. Nothing was ever left for our younger ds, who was upset by what happened. I did not say anything to staff, since I don't want to be perceived as a "demanding" guest. Dh and I just made sure that we made a big deal over ds' birthday. Personally, I wish birthday recognition was standard or not at all.

BTW, when we picked up our temporary DDE information from Guest Relations at Epcot, "Happy Birthday" was written all over the envelope. A CM came out and pinned a birthday button on dh. (It was his birthday that day.) He wasn't too excited about wearing it at first, but he did enjoy all the extra attention. CMs everywhere went out of their way to wish him a happy birthday and engage him in conversation. The pianist at Casey's Corner even played a special birthday song for dh.

You can call and ask the resort, but keep in mind there are no guarantees. Case in point, when we went in Dec one year celebrating bdays (mine in Jan and BFF's in Nov) we'd each requested something for each other card or pic. I got one of Cinderella but she got nothing. I guess Cindy can sign photos easier than Goofy, beats me. I did make sure she got a pic of Goofy in his Santa suit. I enlarged it for her and put it in a pic frame for Xmas for her.

i just got back on the 20th from pofq i was a little down on the food court.
the past two years we stayed at pop and all star movies they had great food courts ,so moving up to a moderate i expected to be blown away but the place was a mess, the selections were limited (compared too pop and movies) and the drinks were warm because they keep them in a open air fridge case not a good idea i like my water and beer cold not warm.and the bus stop was a joke.

The food courts get smaller and more limited the higher you stay on the resort list b/c the higher you are on the list the more they expect you to be at a restaurant and not at the food court. We actually had to drive to POFQ from AKL b/c there was nothing on the food list that we liked so we had to alter our plans.

Just had to say that your daughter is absolutely beautiful!! What an angel. Oh and Rae is my eldest daughter's (25y/o) middle name!
