Back from a week at the POFQ. Here are some observations. The POFQ, particularly if you get a room in Building 4 is close to everything...parking lot, bus stop, pool and food court.

Bus service to POFQ was great...never waited more than 15 minutes...and that was rare.

Sometimes, usually in mid day buses were shared with POR. They always stopped at POFQ first. Many times buses were filled so that POR folks had to stand.

Place was dead most of the time we were there from 7/6 to 7/13. I can see why Disney offers 7 for 5.

I can see no reason to ever stay at POR if there are rooms at POFQ. Things so much closer, bus service so much better.

Parks were not crowded on 7/6, 7/7, and 7/8. Got a little more crowded on weekend, but not bad at all

Tried parks both on early days and not. I will never go to park on early days again. Too crowded and too little open at 8. Crowds much less on non early days.

Last time stayed at Caribbean Beach. Nice place if you like walking miles to get anywhere. POFQ much better. Rooms are identical.

Overall, choose POFQ over POR or CB. No contest.

Any questions, please ask would be glad to help if I can.

I agree with everything you said, LTL. I've stayed at 13 different resorts over the years, and the POFQ is my favorite for all that you say :) Building four is the best!

I can't believe the parks were quiet (except for the weekends). Isn't Disney a very busy time throughout the whole summer? I've never gone during the summer myself.

Thanks for the info. Must say we agree with you on the EMH parks, we did MGM and were a bit frustrated as Muppets opened 30 min. late that morning and Star Tours not at all. Not much for little ones to do. We much preferred to do reg. park opening at non-EMH parks.

:D

Parks seemed pretty slow to fill in the morning. Even though everyone knows to get there early, most people for some reason don't. When we were there, parks started getting crowded around 11-12. We usually left at about 12-1. Came back between 4-5, and there seemed to be a slow time for a couple of hours. Started getting crowded again at 7-8. Between 4-5 even Big Thunder and Splash only had 20 minute waits. By 8, they were over an hour.

I don't know if we were lucky, but we did everything we wanted to in less time than we thought. Some people say weekends are not that crowded at MK, but they were more crowded than on the weekdays. Tuesday and Wednesday seemed the least crowded at the MK.

Another thing, I was totally unimpressed with Fantasmic. I thought Wishes at the MK was much better if you can deal with the crowds on Main Street. If you were by the castle, and had a heart attack, you'd be a goner. No possible way for emergency people to get to you. Crowd control for the fireworks was horrible. You could get trampled to death.

If you have any questions about last week, fire away. Glad to help.

We stayed in bldg. 1 at POFQ 2 weeks ago. I have to say that I really liked how secluded we felt and it was really nice getting up in the morning and watching the sun come up over the river. Nice and relaxing before running out and hitting the parks. I even snuck out and went to the pool around 5:00 a.m. and swam as the sun came up. Guess other people had the same idea cuz there was about 5 of us that would be in the pool at the same time. (Met some great people that way). Glad you loved the resort.

Thanks so much for your post LTL. We are so looking forward to our adults only weekend in November.
Transpo sounds great at POFQ! and I totally know what you mean about CBR. We stayed there for last years adult only weekend and we spent most of our time wondering around CBR grounds. But we still liked the place. CBR is very pretty and laid back.
But to have everything so close at POFQ, it's exciting!

Jessiangel--I think I'm gonna try the 5am swim. Sounds like fun!

thanks for sharing....my crew is checking in to POFQ on Tuesday for 2 nights before we hit th Poly...Im anxious to stay there..Ive visited (when I was a CM) but never stayed there.

Thanks for the info. My DH and I want to stay there for our 25 wedding anniversary. It's still a few years away, but planning ahead is what makes it happen!
