We just got back from WDW last night from a one week trip. I'm sort of feeling the Disney withdrawal today
We had such a great time! This trip we had my DDs 5 and almost 3, DH, myself, my mother, and.....my brother and his new wife. They wanted to go to WDW for their honeymoon but my Mom and Dad are the ones that can get everyone rooms as Shades of Green. They have to be on property to sponsor a room for someone. We gave them their space but they ended up with us a lot of the time anyway. Some notes and observations..
1. The honeymoon thing at WDW is great!! Seriously! They had people congratulating them every 2 seconds. They got free drinks and desserts at restaurants, free diet cokes (I am a diet coke addict), and lots of recognition.
2. My kids loved the new Spaceship Earth. Especially the interactive bit at the end. I was a bit nostlagic for the old but the update is pretty good.
3. We did the Pirate Princess Party and I'm so glad we did. It was a lot of money but even my DH, the penny pincher agreed, it was a great evening.
4. My DD 5 is now into pin collecting. Lord help us. I had no idea it was such an addictive hobby.
5. This was the first trip without someone in diapers. Boy what a difference.
6. There is a slight flaw in the baby swap system. Flame suit on. We did not intend to abuse the system but here is what happened a couple of times. DH or I would take the 2 year old to get a swap, intending to let my mom watch the girls and then switch and let my mom ride with one of us. My Mom a couple of times decided she didn't feel like riding. But we used the swap pass anyway. It really is like having an immediate fast pass in some cases with 3 people being allowed to use the pass. I thought it was wrong, DH disagreed. I guess they should have people posted at the end of the ride to hand out passes?
7. At the Grand Floridian we got on with a very old money group who was really funny. The mom had a giant Louis Vuitton bag and the grandpa was even wearing a suit with a cute little hankie in the pocket (it was 80 degrees). They had their own personal CM showing them around. The CM kept apologizing that they had to have their bags checked and go through a turnstile. The mom and dad clapped and said "We did it!" when they figured out (with a CMs help) how to put their tickets in the ticket reader. I doubt they're on the DIS.
We're looking forward to our next trip!
