Just back from our first trip "home" at SSR . . .

We just spent December 21-27 at SSR and LOVED it. We especially loved the fact that we could walk to DD. Our room was great and our DS's enjoyed having their own room. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff at SSR. They were so helpful and friendly. The bus service was great. The only time we had to wait was for one bus on the 25th and 26th. The parks weren't too crowded until the 25th. My favorite day had to be the 24th when we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK in the morning and then that evening ate at O'hana's. I had heard some negative things about O'hana's since they changed their menu, but we had absolutely no complaints. Our waiter was so nice and just made our evening even better. The food was, of course, out of this world. We did the usual Sci-Fi one afternoon and enjoyed that too. All in all it was one of the best trips to WDW that we have ever had. We're planning on going back next year. I'm just waiting until I can make my reservations.

I would love to be at disney on christmas eve and christmas day. Did SSR have any special events for christmas eve and day(characters or santa). We came back from SSR on the 15th and I'm ready to go back. Glad you had a great time. Susan

We didn't participate in any of the activities at SSR on those dates so I can't tell you what was planned. I know they had carolers on one of the days and a Santa visit, but I'm not sure when. Our DS's are older so we mainly hit the parks and DD. How were the crowds while you were there?

We arrived on december 3rd and the first week only really felt the crowds on Monday the 5th at magic kingdom, still only minimal wait time. The second week was really light and walked on all rides.This would be my week of choice to visit. The last day Dec. 14th we were last leaving the stunt show at the studio's, we had to wait for the elevator because DS is disabled and then made a bathroom stop. On the way out we saw a person standing by the fence holding a helment and in a jump suit. We asked if he was a driver and he said yes, he then let us take a picture of him with DS. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Susan

Glad you enjoyed your stay. We really loved our first trip home too It makes it really tough to even want to go back to a regular hotel room.
