Hi fellow members.....

Just back from our Grand Villa stay at OKW. Boy once you stay in a Grand Villa there's no going back to anything else......

Initially there was to be 12 people, but in the end only 7 people came along but kept the Grand Villa anyway. Stayed on South Point road, villa # 4822. My first time in 10 years not getting the location I wanted (Turtle Pond Road). My kids thought I was going to cry at the front desk during check in but I didn't and it all turned out ok. Location was great, might even think about staying on South Point next time!

Very hot and very full. I normally do not take vacations in the summer but since our oldest daughter is going to college in Sept, we had do a summer vacation. All in all great time had by all. Did my favorites restuarants.....Liberty Tree Tavern, Brown Derby, California Grille and High Tea at Grand Floridian. And a few new ones....Macaroni Grill and hamburgers from Hanks. Loved them all and would recommend them. Tried Winn Dixie for groceries. Much cheaper then Goodies.

I do have a questions for you though.....if 70% of all members do not stay at DVC resorts for Friday & Saturday nights, why are the villas never ready before 4 PM on Sunday??? If all members check out on Friday before 11 AM, why aren't the villa ready on Sunday??? Just wondering, does anyone know the answer?

Went to the member up date on Wednesday, now moved to SSR at the Cinema. Great location, lots of room. However, no free donuts, coffee or tea anymore. Since the meeting is held at 4 PM in the afternoon, water is the only thing there to drink. Nothing to snack on. Got some informative news---85,000 members, 60 countries. Big celebration for 2005. The 50th anniversary of Disneyland in California. All locations to have a celebration.

If you have any questions or comments just let me know. Have a Disney Day!

Thanks for the great trip report! What kind of view did you have the balcony of that Grand Villa? (Pretty luxurious for 7!)

I've thought about why we wait, too. I think the answer is that even though DVC members may not be staying in the rooms, Disney does have people in the rooms for the nights leading up to Sunday but they also know that those people can't book past Sunday. So, you probably have a big check out on Sunday as well as a big check-in. And Sunday morning is usually a slow time for everybody to get going.

Geeee Whiz......85,000 x $14,000 = $ 1,190,000,000
For THAT type of money.....a few donuts seems kindof cheap!

A billion dollars doesn't buy what it use to!

We've always (4 times now) have stayed at OKW from Sat to Sat through our exchange from Williamsburg Plantation. Our villa is usually ready, though not always.

Have a great day!
