Just got home from our Fall Break trip. Reserved a one bedroom (Near HH category) at OKW in June. Went on the waitlist for AKV value one bedroom and BWV standard one bedroom but were fine with okw. Well, now DH has declared a new favorite
. We've stayed at OKW before, but it's always been studios. The one bedroom was so much bigger than the other ones we've had(SSR, BWV, BCV((actually a 2bed but same 1 bed part)))! The kids love the pool and slide at OKW and we had a great time, even though we only went to HS, MK and Blizzard Beach! We have really started taking more leisurely dvc vacations. We had planned on doing EPCOT, but it was just too darn hot and we were enjoying the resort so much we just relaxed that day and went to DD. Here's a short highlights list:
*Stayed at Springhill Suites in the Marriott Village on Saturday night as we werent' sure if we'd actually make it to Orlando driving in one day and could cancel by 6 if we couldn't. It was nice and would stay here again.
*Shopped at the Prime Outlets on Sunday. Northface and Underarmour outlet....doesn't get any better for me
*Monday--(Ran the Conch Flats Trail to DD and back before we went to park)HS--TSM posted 40 min wait, more like 30.
*Tuesday (ran on treadmill in exercise room--side note: they are installing tv monitors on the treadmills, but they weren't done yet on Friday, but they had moved the tv's against the windows, so at 7am....I had a view of the dark outside)Enjoyed pool at resort and MNSSHP...no lines....great party,as usual
*Wednesday---was supposed to do EPCOT but swam and went to DD instead & T-REX restaurant. Good food! I'm not a fan of Rainforest Cafe, but I liked the food here! Kids built a dino and loved it! Took the boat back--it was summer-time hot!
*Thursday--Blizzard Beach. Kids loved it--my 5 yo's first water park--she loved it. 9 yo did Summit Plummit and loved it too! I have scratches on my knees from the wave pool!
Friday--Ran a 12 mile run before checking out(3 on treadmill and 9 hot miles outside). If you saw a short blonde drenched in sweat and from the sprinklers in a lime green tank or black sports bra(lost the tank layer at about mile 9) that was me
.
. We got to Calhoun, GA before the drenching rain helped us decide to not try to make it home in one day. We finished the drive today and after lots of stops to shop and eat
we got home
.
We had a great trip and can't wait to go back!
