Just back from OKW and loved it!!!!

Hi. Just got back last night from OKW and let me tell you we now love OKW!!!! I see what everyone loves about it.

My kids love AKV and were a little disappointed not to stay at AKV before we got there. Our room was awesome although not rehabed, the pool was a lot of fun, Olivias for breakfast was good. I have to rave about the buses - awesome. The CMs couldn't be any more helpful. Lots of Disney Magic there. All in all a great trip. We will definitely stay there again!!!!!

I was surprised about the Parks - probably due to the heat - were not as busy as I expected - we've never been in the summer before. We went to EMH at AK and MK and were able to ride all the rides we wanted to and then some.

I'll do a trip report sometime tomorrow while I get over my depression of being home and having to go to work tonight.

We are new DVC'ers at OKW and I cannot wait to hear all about your trip! WE havent been 'home' yet, and chose OKW for the lush tropical landscaping, and the all around laid back feeling everyone says it has. We are very (im)patiently waiting to experience it ourselves on 10/31!

I agree with you thoughts on Old Key West. It is still the best "home away from home". Glad you enjoyed your stay.

We loved OKW too. The laid back vibe is apparent throughout the resort. It feels homey to us!

I love OKW for so many reasons. The palm trees are the most important reason. But there are little things I love also. The walk down the hallway from the livingroom to the bedroom means so much to me. The full size laundry room. Parking outside our villa door. It feels like a real home. There are many more things, the list would be very long.

We enjoyed OKW too the two times we stayed. We stayed in July one trip and Jan. the other...so two completely different times of year. LOVED IT!!!

Glad you loved OKW. Been our home since "93". We will be back home in late sept. for two weeks. Has anyone heard how the remodels are going and will they be done with the building 18-19-20 or 21 buy mid sept. ??

We love OKW too! It is our home resort, and the one we stay at most frequently.

I would be interested in hearing about the remodels as well. So are you saying they are remodeling building by building? Just wondering what buildings will be done in October. We will going with extended family and have 2, 2 bdrms and 1 studio reserved. The rest of the family is staying on cash while we are staying on our pts., so we are the ones with the studio. We love OKW so we don't really care if we have a remodeled room, but since it is the first visit for everyone else I would love it if they could get a "fresh" room.

OKW (our home resort) is always the one we want to come back to when we come to WDW. We have stayed at others over the years, but we love our OKW. The rooms seem much larger and we can't wait to see how they have been rehabbed.

We (myself, DS, DDIL, and 2 DDGD) just returned last night from a week at OKW in a 2BR HH area, building 14(not renovated), my home resort is BCV, but I have really come to enjoy OKW for the laid back atmosphere, friendly CMs, not to mention the lower point requirements. I always try being near HH for the convenience.

The weather was hot but tolerable, only a couple of brief small showers (no thunderstorms ) for the entire week. Parks and water parks were not as crowded as I expected.
