And it was a great week... (can't believe I didn't DIS all week, I almost went into withdrawl)

The weather at the shore was beautiful...7 days of sun.

Now i'm in a major funk because I look so forward to my vacation time I get very sad when it's over and i'm home. I really enjoy spending time with my family and my brother's family.

OC NJ is a great place to visit if you have young children. There is so much to do and lots of things geared toward the younger ones.

welcome to my home town. It really is great here. Late summer early fall is a great time to visit, and of course you got good weather and I guess the big surf from all the hurricanes. You may have seen one of my sons who is a beach life guard.

Ahh...OC would be a great place to live...it's so beautiful there. We had great weather, and only rough surf yesterday. My son is 3 and my nieces are 2.5 and 5, so the kids are at a good age to visit there. Last year we went down in September, and unfortunately caught the hurricane. This year, the weather we had was probably the best of the summer.

We've been there 3 years in a row, so we may try another place next year, however we always do seem to keep coming back because we like it so much.

I love love love Ocean City NJ, our favorite vacay destination ( WDW of coarse being the other) Wish I was there now!!!::yes::

We were there Thursday for the day. Probably our last visit for the year. Had to use up all the ride tickets since the last time we were there it rained. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time.

I love it, too. I've lived here almost all of my life. DH and I just took a long walk on the boardwalk and will be at the beach tomorrow. Next Friday is our first football game and I'll be there. It's the only field I know where you can see the ocean while watching a game. Ranatra was here a few weeks ago and I met up with her.

just around the corner from me. It's funny, I live so close, and we only make it to the boardwalk a couple times a year. As the kids get older, our schedule just gets more and more full.

My family spent the entire month of August in OC......around 15th and Asbury! We had the BEST time!

I was a little nervous a few days ago, though, because I put my niece on that Sea Serpent ride literally hours before that little boy flipped out and got caught between the two cars. I said many prayers of thanks for my blessings!

We stayed on 43rd street this year, last year we were at 36th and Wesley and I liked being closer to 34th street near the playground and tennis and would almost like being in the 20's closer to the boardwalk.

Glad to hear so many of us are OCNJ visitors and residents!!

i was just watching the news and they had a whole big thing on Ocean City---interviewing lifeguards and everything

I live so close and yet only go up on the OC boardwalk about 2 x per year. Now that my kids are older they take themselves and don't need me to go! DH and I are planning on going up this Wednesday and getting my Mac and Manco fix taken care of.

So a question for all you Ocean City experts. I haven't been since I was like 10, and DH and I are thinking of renting a place next year. Where is the best place to be? I'm currently looking at a place at 8th and Park, a block from the Boardwalk. Is that a good location for the beach and nightlife? Is there any parks close by, or are they farther down? I really wanted to stay north of 20th since that's where the boardwalk is, and with a 7 and 4 YO next year I thought that would be great! Being able to ride our bikes in the early AM on the Boardwalk, and being able to walk to the rides and stuff at night. Any advice you can provide would be great! Also, if you could recommend any rental agents, that would be great also!!!

8th Street area is very close to everything. Wonderland Pier is on 6th and Boardwalk and Playland is at 10th. The water park is in between. There are a lot of places to eat in that area also. A really good real estate is Hager (now Prudential). They've been in business for years and have tons of listings. Ranatra comes down every year and if you PM her she could also help. I've lived in my home for 18 yrs so I haven't used the realtors in a long time. Times for boardwalk biking has been extended, it is now 6am to noon. Oh, and DS works at the pier, I can get discounted tickets- PM me if you do decide to come down.

Also, we are a "dry"town.

Oh, I know that, it's one of the GREAT things about Ocean City IMO!!! Thanks for the recomendations, we'll just have to see how things work out and where we end up. I appreicate the offers for discounted tickets!!!! I love Ocean City, and it will be totally different for me, since the last time I was there, I was the kid, now I'm the parent!!!
