Took my DP to NYC for three day weekend in NYC for his birthday. Had 4th row seats for Promises, Promises with Sean Hayes and Kristen Chenowith (both were great). Excited to hear Kristen sing "A House is Not A Home" but felt the arrangement when she sang it on Glee was better that version in the show. Sean was great, but it was hard for me not to think it was "Jack" in the role!:goodvibes

Glad you had a good time! I've been thinking of taking a long weekend to NYC since I've never been. We just started our summer hours and I'll be working 4 day weeks. So I'll have 3 day weekends, or if I switch my day off, a 4 day weekend. Nice you had DP to go with. I don't mind doing Disney solo but not sure about someplace like NYC.

Private Message me people before you come up to NYC! I LIVE HERE! (Well technically NJ but that doesn't matter its so close anyway!)

How many days would be good for a trip to NYC? Would a 3 or 4 day weekend be enough to really see the city? I'm really thinking about doing a trip this summer. I have a 4 1/2 day weekend this weekend and it bums me out I'm not doing anything with it. My sister just decided last Friday to go to Baltimore for the weekend for a concert. If she, who's married and has a kid, can drop everything and just get away I should too.

You can do a decent NYC trip in 4 days. I used to go every month as my ex lives in Jersey. I actually just got back from a 5 day trip there. My friend from Europe flew over to the US and we met up there. Had a blast!!! I could point you in the direction of some good restaurants if I can remember their names.

My friend and I were gonna go see Promises, Promises! We couldn't decide between that and Wicked (we are both huge fans) though. We were just there the previous weekend and went and stalked the Tony's to find celebrities!

We LOVE NYC, although it's been a couple years since we've been back. Miss it so much. We usually fly out on a Thursday night, fly back on a Monday morning. We shop, see a few shows, hang out and drink with friends. Three full days is usually plenty. We've done all the sightseeing stuff many trips before.

For one of greatest places to go to, try Marie's Crisis some late night on a Friday or Saturday. Very tiny basement piano bar. Pianist plays showtunes and people sing. Some amazing singers are usually there and some regulars that will blow your socks off. One of our favorite spots.

OMG! Loved it! We went after the theatre with our friend who had just finished performing in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and saw several b'way performers sing there that night. It was a blast!

Kronk: You said your ex lives in NJ? Didn't Frank just say he lives in NJ?? Hmmmm

Thanks for the info guys. I just might have to start planning. I could fly out Thursday after work and come back Monday. Hmmmm
