We just returned from six nights at Kidani. There were 19 of us in four rooms. We had a 2BR and three studios. We requested rooms near each other and we were on the same floor (3rd) in rooms from 7730, 7742, 7743 and 7752. I appreciated that they met our request to be near one another. I was in the 2BR and will note that they did still have a DVD player in the living room. I know at least one of the studios had one as well, according to my niece. Our 2BR was in good shape. Yes, there were nicks and scrapes and chips in furniture and tile, but it did not distract from our enjoyment of the room. I slept comfortably in the king bed, the mattress suited me! Our rooms were between the Rafiki and Pumbaa elevators, so it was easy to access the pool. It was a haul to the bus stop though!
The only issue we had after getting in our rooms was one of the studios had a refrigerator that smelled horribly. The family in that studio opened the door of the fridge late in the evening after checking in and it smelled awful and in turn, once opened, the entire room smelled awful. I called housekeeping/engineering and told them we needed someone to come and bring a different fridge and take that one away. The person answering questioned whether it was a small fridge or a full-sized fridge - once I said it was the small fridge, she said they would send one up as soon as possible. It maybe took 45 minutes or an hour, but it was replaced in a timely manner. The person who brought the different fridge agreed that something bad had happened in that fridge and he understood why we wanted it out.
All in all, it was a great stay at Kidani. We enjoyed watching the zebras, giraffes, cattle, etc... and it helped give the kids something to do when in the room while their moms and dads were having a break from the parks.
