All tanned up and happy.

This is my first in HHI. We're there with 4 adults. A 2-bedroom in Building #18. Upon arrival, I was checked in by Barry, who's also from HK (like myself). So it's very strange to do the whole thing in Cantonese. :) He's very helpful. He told me the building # 18, 29 and 31 are the best. All with marsh view. And 2nd floor are even better (less noise). I have called 3 days prior to my arrival to request my room, and all are honored.

We did kayaking, and the dolphin cruise. Both very very good. And we hang out at the Beach House almost daily. Saw Shadow too.

Ate at Old Oyster Factory (good), Pepper Porch (ok), Captain Table (very relaxed and great food), and Crazy Crab (the best). We got some mussel from Cap. Table, and steam it ourselves, and that's really the best meal (along with our steak).

The only thing I didn't anticipate is lunching options. I found it very very hard to find non-fast food restaurants around HHI for lunch (esp a late one), and on Sunday. We arrived on Sun around 3pm, and pretty much Tide Me Over is our only option.

Overall, one of the best vacation I ever had!

I feel there are many lunch options including ones that work for a late lunch. Many close to DVC to include Crackerbarrel, Gusseppi's, Hilton Head Dinner, Dunes Pizza, Wild Wings, Truffles, Cafe Europa (more exp), Bluffton Dinner. I think Cafe at Wexford does lunch as well an I'm sure I'm missing many options here. Still, your first time there, so many more restaurants to explore. That's my mission, eat my way through HH. LOL.

I'm glad you had a great trip. We leave for HH on Friday and I've been taking lots of HH notes regarding eating options. Thanks to the two of you, I have lots of choices. :sunny:

Dean,
Thanks for your note. I am sure there are plenty of lunch restaurants, we just didn't know about them! We were looking for seafood (relax, not dressed up kinda environment). And I didn't do enough research. I should have asked ahead of time here. Guess I'm just spoiled by WDW tradition where everything is right in front of us. :)

Not to mention, I totally forgot to bring the driving directions from SAV to HHI. Stupid me. And I kept saying, there will be signs... I forgot how the real world works once I'm in my Mickey gears. :0
