Hello! We had a great time! We didn't know to reserve a cart but went down Sunday evening and managed to get one on the spot and keep it for 4 nights. Check in went smoothly, we even extended our stay one night and hit a few snags with that due to the CM not checking the date! But after dh got that straightened out all was well. We did have a problem with our access cards getting demagnitized our last day but took them into the Check in/check out office and they gave us new ones.

We stayed in the 2000 loop, if you were there this past week and saw two crazy twins riding almost identical bikes, one with a pink helmit and one with a purple helmit they were mine. We found it funny that they put all the tenters and pop-ups on the same loop instead of mixing them up with the RV users cause we all had to use the showers and toilets and they Rv'ers have thier own so if you mix them up then there isn't so much waiting. Anyway, the facilities were nice, not as nice as they are in other parts of the park but they were alright.

We hit snag with the buses at times. They would switch an orange to purple after you got on it or as it was pulling up it would switch to purple. Confusing. We found that the Trails End was good but extremely expensive. We ate there once and only once. My mom paid $18 for herself alone. There were 5 of us so you can only imagine what we paid. I crockpotted it one day and we came back from Magic Kingdom, ate and went back for fireworks and more fun. We split a lot of meals while at the park. My son and I split many sandwiches and my daughters split all meals. The brats at Epcot are nasty, stay away from those in the Germany. Yuck!

Kidcot was fun at Epcot. The girls had fun collecting stamps and things from the different countries.

We only had one bad moment at FW, we were on our way back from the Marina Tuesday night after watching the fireworks at Magic Kingdom (again). We were coming up that road in front of Meadows Trading post and a bus was coming up behind us really fast. My mom was driving our cart and I was in the back with the girls. I told her it was coming up fast and she barely had a chance to pull over to let it go by. She was partially still on the road and I had to holler at her to pull all the way off cause that bus was not giving us any room. I was so scared! It just barely missed us and and we followed it through it's last two stops, at the last one before heading to the outpost my dh got off the cart and asked her if she realized she almost hit us. She denied it and never apologized. I called the front desk to complain about her and gave them the bus number and the time it happened. Told them that my dh went to talk to her and she denied that she did it and never once apologized. We had two 6 yr old on the back besides me, we could have been gravely injured if she had hit us and she didn't care.

Other then that it was a Dream Come True for us. We all always wanted to go to WDW and we did, finally.

My wife and I spent last halloween week at Fw and I too thought the food was pricey at the buffet. But it's pricey all over WDW so it didn't bother me as much as it normally would. We stayed in our popup and combined meals at the buffet at FW with cooking at the popup. We also brought a chicken dinner takeout which lasted us for a couple of big meals. Breakfast was at the buffet most mornings since we were on vacation and wanted some easy meals with less cleanup worries.

We too just got home Friday after a few days at the fort. I went to eat at TE on Friday before we left. It was not bad but as usual WDW is going to get their money on food. It's similar to going to the movie theater lol. One nice thing about going to the fort is that you can decide how much you will eat out and spend. You either bring it and eat at camper or pay up. I prefer to cook about 60% and eat out the rest. Buying a refillable mug will save you a few bucks too. I ordered a pizza one day for lunch and it was really good. It was around $15 and big. It was just me and DD and we could only eat half. It will feed a lot of kids. If you're in a hurry stop off and get a cinammon roll or muffin. Those were really good.

We cooked all dinner time meals at the camper. Ate lunch at whatever park we were at and shared meals. That made it cheaper and no food wasting. Breakfast was cereal for my dh and the kids and my mom and I had boiled eggs. I can't eat anything sweet in the mornings or I pay all day so boiled eggs was easy. The last day there we ate dinner at the park we were at since it was the last day. The fish and chips at United Kingdom in Epcot are good. Girls loved them and wanted more. LOL

I love cooking while camping so I had no problem cooking later after getting back. Oh! We did eat at McDonalds in Downtown Disney on Wednesday cause my son wanted it so bad. He loves the toys right now and is hung up on McD's for the toys.

The reason the tenters and pop-ups are usually all in the same loop is the way they price the loops. Loop 2000 and Loop 1500 are "Partial Hookup Loops" They have no sewer connection. The rest of the loops are Full Hookup Loops and Preferred Full Hookup Loops and do have a sewer connection AND they cost more. Most tent campers and popup owners don't want to pony up the extra money for a sewer connection they don't need.

However, if you want to pay the extra money all tent campers and popup owners are more than welcome to stay in any loop in the camprground.

Oh I know that. Most campgrounds mix them up throughout the campground. But, I also know that Disney does things thier own way too. :)

Also, Disney did build a second Comfort Station years back for Loop 2000. I'm with you that us pop-up owners and tent campers need the CS more so than the RV owners. I put my pop-up in Loop 1000 last week and never had to wait at the 900-1000 CS at for a stall, a sink, or a shower. :rolleyes1

I've tented in loop 2000 before and decided that for the $$$ the convenience of being real close to the Meadow TP made it worth getting a Preferred site. clkelley is right. I tented down in loop 100 before; wherever you want to go you can go. :woohoo:

Don't begrudge the RV'ers. But at least with you and me with the canvas/nylon over our heads, we woke up every morning to the birds singing as the sun just BARELY started to come over the horizon. Now THAT is what I remember.

PS-when it's still dark in the early a.m., the birds are quiet. But when the first hint of sun comes into the sky, the chorus starts up. I loved it! :cheer2:

Not begrudging anyone. Just a thought typed out. That's all. Something my dh noticed and brought to my attention during our stay. We just found it funny (odd) what have ya. I could not beleive it was still dark at 7am! That really surprised me. We are light by 7am here in North AL. LOL I had to look at my watch several times to make sure it really was 7am.

We asked about where most of the popups were when we went in 1996 to the fort. We choose a full hookup site for that reason. No line ups at the comfort station. We ended up with a great site too. We were in the 1300 loop and backed onto the river. It was great.

Twin....

You're right, the sun does come up late in Orlando! Not like us Bama folks.

On the two days we went to the parks last week, it was hard to wake up early and get going. We even juggled our park selection/days to avoid EARLY HOUR because we just couldn't get going so early. Maybe it's because we moved the clocks forward a month early.....

PS-Only 157 more days till college football kicks off....
