We loved it! The resort was beautiful and staff very disney. We couldn't have had a better room, overlooked the pool and laid out much like the 2bdrms at OKW. I loved all the planned activities; Behind the ears tour (short history of the resort and the kids had some help looking for hidden Mickey's); the Marsh exploration was a hit with the big mud boots with the kids; and the campfire with songs and smores was fun too! It really did remind us of an old time camp resort. The pool waterslide was the big hit as was the beach house. One day I wasn't feeling well and everyone else went to the pool. I just opened the door to the balcony, climbed in the big soft bed and laid there dozing in and out watching the huge trees blow in the wind and listening to the splashing at the pool. If you're gonna be sick on vacation, Disney is the place to do it! We found the Piggly Wiggly supermarket closeby and fell in love with their chocolate/cream cheese brownies (these things were gigantic)!! We also did try Captain's Seafood as recommended on this site, and enjoyed it. My favorite meal was at Scott's Fish Market, right at the bridge to the resort. We sat outside overlooking the marina and ate, the atmosphere was so great. The only thing I regret is not booking more nights so we could go on the dolphin cruise....next time for sure!!!All in all a great trip, 4 rolls of film in 4 days to prove it!

Thanks for the report. We head down in about a week! We can't wait to leave this lousy weather. Is Scott's Fish Market OK to take kids? Our youngest is 6 and does not like seafood -- is there a kid's menu? I have seen it recommended on the boards and would like to try it this time. We also have enjoyed Captain's and may go back there too.

I love HH. It provides a wonderful vacation balance...relaxation with enough activities to keep you from geting bored. The activities always vary a little from trip to trip. We won't be back to HH until June 04, but look forward to our first summer stay. I will agree about Captains seafood, we did takeout from there and it's close enough that out order was still steaming when we got back to the resort. We find 6 nights to be the perfect stay at HH.:)

Scott's Fish Market was fine to take the kids. I have 4, ages 17, 9, 7 and 5. We sat outside but I saw many people with kids going in (casually dressed). They do have a kid's menu; chicken fingers, hot dogs, popcorn shimp all with fries. Have fun!

Thanks for the trip report! We hope to be able to combine OKW/HH early June 04 or OKW and a short cruise but I am leaning towards trying HH. We took a short 4 night trip to Sea Pines when dh's work had a trade out there and dh says it was his favorite vacation.:D

Thanx for the report, and I'm glad you had a good time!
I am dying to go to HH, but I'm afraid I will like it too much and want to buy points there!

We love this resort so much that this was our first add-on since our purchase at OKW in 1994! Have been there for 4 holiday seasons, one April and once in July. Agree that Scott's is great and I love just strolling around the shops at Shelter Cove. July is fun with fireworks on Tues..we saw them being launched form our room! we ar eplanning on returning spring or summer 2004!
Glad you fell in love with it also. Although, it won't be such a secret pretty soon!
