Just back from a long 2 week stay at WDW that included many different parts: business seminar/conference portion, a 3 day pin event in Epcot,a trip to the ER at Celebration Hospital, 2 days spent bedridden, park time, some great meals and my first stay at the BCVs. It was an interesting trip to say the least!
Our villa was not ready when I checked in at 9:00 AM and due to prior commitments I did not get back to BCV until 7:00 pm that night to get our room. They are definitely going by the first come first serve room assignment as far as getting your requests. The only request I had made was I did not want an Epcot view because I did not want to be near the road. Well the only way we could have been any closer to the road would have been if the villa was moved to the middle of the road and the traffic had to drive around us! We were literally tops maybe 100 ft from the road. Right across from us was the back of the Land at Epcot where they are doing construction adding on to the attraction so we also had a great view of the crane and the construction site. Right below us to the right was the air conditioning units for the building and to the left was the plumbing connection pipes for the building. We could see Illuminations from our balcony by looking to the left and the high fireworks were very close and the music could be heard clearly as long as there was not too much traffic. Between the traffic noise, the construction noise and the air conditioning units it was very noisy at times even with the balcony doors shut.
The villa was in very good shape. The bathroom floor did have a few hairs on it, but I think that was from being washed with a mop that needed refreshing. I just wiped down the bathroom floor with a wet paper towel and everything was fine. The whole villa was clean. I loved having the coffee table in the studio and I like the dining chairs very much, very comfy! I was not crazy about the location of the door connecting the 1 br and studio because it makes the studio kitchen area smaller. I did like the extra space in the studio tub/toilet area but missed the space in the studio sink area. We found the air conditioning fine and did not notice it only coming on through a motion sensor, of course I spent alot of time in the room especially for the two days I was bedridden so maybe that was the difference. We found the water pressure to be just fine, maybe there are advantages to being so close to the plumbing connections! LOL! I also loved having elevators located in several locations in the building---very convenient.
I was a little disappointed to see that Disney has eliminated the fancier tiles in the kitchen and bath areas. That little extra touch of the hand painted tiles adds alot to the overall look of the area.
SAB was never crowed there were always tons of seats but they still checked room ids and gave out the wrist bands. There were always plenty of life guards on duty doing the fabulous job they always do. They were doing some work on certain areas of the pool but by yesterday it looked as if that was all completed. Hurricane Hannahs drinks are just as yummy as always. It was about a 10 minute walk from our villa to SAB and the resort restaurants.
The parks were not crowed the first week but park attendance picked up as the 2nd week progressed. The humidity was very high especially the second week, some days the humidty was 92-100%!
Well that about wraps it up. Now I'm counting down until the next trip in 6 weeks for the F&W festival!
