BCV is not one of my home resorts, but when I had a chance to stay there during F&W I thought, what the heck, why not try something new? Some thoughts:

The check-in/out area is very small. I had done express check-in, but had to wait in line for about 15 minutes, even though I arrived at 11:30 AM, which I didn't think would be a busy time. On the other hand, once I got to the counter, everything was very efficient, and they had a room ready for me (as well as my Happy Birthday button!).

I was on the second floor in room 272 (one bedroom). The view was fine - mostly a canal/fountain with the pool just visible off to the side. But it really doesn't compare to the Boardwalk view that I love. It's a shame that BCV doesn't have Boardwalk views, because those would be fabulous.

The room itself was very nice, with carpet and furniture that seemed new, and was very comfortable. The balconies were also nicely sized, although they didn't get much use because of the heat last week. Only problem was a couple of burnt out light bulbs, but that wasn't really a big deal. TVs are not flat screen, but I really didn't mind that (although it was annoying not to get TBS when I wanted to watch a baseball playoff game). The one thing I really wish the rooms had was wireless internet, because my laptop doesn't have an ethernet connection. Still, it wasn't too big a deal to go down to the lobby, which was very comfortable.

No problems with transportation. Buses came regularly to DAK, MK, and DD, and were never very crowded. Walking to EPCOT was a breeze. But once again, I give the Boardwalk a leg up because the walk to DHS is shorter. But still, not too bad from BCV.

Used the health club a couple of times, and found it to be more than adequate, though I would have liked the temperature in there to be a bit cooler. As an aside, the hallways in the BCV were the coldest I've ever been in. I kept the thermostat in the room at 62 degrees, and the hallways were still colder!

Stormalong Bay was fun. I'm not a big pool person, but I can see the draw for many people. Ate at Beaches and Cream, the Yachtsman, and Cape May, and it was nice to have them close.

So overall it was a very nice stay. In the final analysis, I'm glad I own points at BWV because it still gets the nod because of the availability of the Boardwalk view and the shorter walk to DHS. But I'd be perfectly happy to stay at BCV again sometime.

Sounds like you had a great time. Isn't it wonderful that as a DVC member, you can use your membership and different resorts and have a different vacation each time you visit Walt Disney World. :yay:

We stayed at the BCV for the first time this past June. The kids loved SAB along with B&C. We were lucky to get a poolside ground floor room so after a late night in the parks, the kids could go straight out the door and into the pool area. I would definitely try staying there again but I did miss the Boardwalk.
