We spent 4 days in daytona and 5 days at the HRH. The HRH will meet or exceed all expectations. Any questions please feel free to ask. Trip report will follow in a day or two.
We've got reservations for the Hard Rock for June 25-30. My 9 yr old and 3 1/2 yr old are wondering about the game room and they love chess and wanted to know if you can really play the life-size chess. Also, how large are the rooms? I haven't seen what the square footage is. Are there refrigerators in the rooms or only mini bars? How was the staff? Nothing worse than rude staff--had that at CBR at Disney. I know I must have more questions for you but of course I'm drawing a blank! Oh, hope you had a great time!
Daytona beach was really nice. We actually went there first just to relax and unwind we really needed a vacation. There are tons of resturants a water park and plenty to do if your are a race fan. The boardwalk was small. The ocean is clean you can see your feet as you walk in not like the beach we go to in New jersey. The sand is powder soft and it is hilarious to watch the cars go by almost like a parade. We used the entertainment book and go an oceanfront condo for $65.00 at westgate resort. There off we went to the hard rock.
The pool view room only has a minibar and it was jam packed my son opened a bottle of evian water as soon as we checked in and it cost us $6.00!! We had picked up a cooler at publics before we checked out of westgate and brought it to HRH with us. The bathroom area had a sink outside the bath and it fit under the sink perfectly.
The games at the pool are sand volleyball , giant chess set and kids were actually having a game, pool basketball, table tennis and of couse the GIANT SLIDE.
The staff at both HRH and Westgate Daytona could not have been nicer actually there were times that they bent over backwards for us but I will get into that with my trip report.
