We got in early this afternoon from Coronado Springs Resort and we LOVED it. It is a massive resort but we got lucky with our room location. We were in Cabanas 9A in room 9272 which was on the end closest to 9B. For anyone looking for an adjoining room, this is the one. We didn't need that feature but I thought I'd post it for those who might need it.

Our room was just a short walk from the bridge to the Dig Site and a slight walk to El Centro. We used both Bus Stops 1 & 4 as we were central of the two. We flew so we uses WDW transportation and never had a very long wait. The resort as well as the theme parks weren't crowded at all! :goodvibes

My children and DH loved everything about the resort, well DH didn't care too much for the Pepper Mkt but I liked it and DD4 liked it better than Maya Grill. We also ate at Maya Grill on Thursday and last night as we were tired from running all day. We were on the free dining plan and had no problems using it anywhere.

Well we can't say enough about this great resort and we think we've found the spot for future visits, so if you have any questions or comments feel free. :wave2:

This is our favorite hotel. I am sorry your DH didn't like Pepper Market. We love everything about this hotel. We even like the way it is spread out because it is great for night time walks after a nice dinner at Maya Grill.

Glad :goodvibes you had a great trip and enjoyed the hotel. Makes me homesick for Disney. :(

This is a little weird, but what were the sheets like? We are used to very soft sheets, like 350 thread count, and I know they won't be that, but are they very stiff and rough? What about the pillows? Hard, soft, small?

Thanks! :)

cookieprincess and alwayspooh, I'm not sure why DH didn't care for the Pepper Market other than they were very slow in the refills and he went to get his own and got in "trouble" :rotfl: But I thought the food was great, over the course of our visit I had a Chef's special at the Mexican counter it was a taco salad bowl w/ salad in it w/ the black beans and large shrimp  DH had a cheeseburger and it wasn't cooked in the center, it was pretty rare. But that can happen anywhere. DD9 ordered a wet burrito and that was delicious. We ordered pizza on another day and it was pretty good. They did tell us that on the dining plan you could have a muffin or a cookie only for dessert, but that wasn't an issue for us.

hoceybabe, I don't remember the sheets feeling rough at all. As a matter of fact I think they were pretty soft. And the pillows were very soft. DH and I always sleep w/ 2 pillows so we had a total of 6 pillows in the room. And the beds were pretty comfy. Hope this helps.

Thanks, we're heading there in two weeks and I appreciate hearing your positive (mostly) experience.

I've requested the Casitas as I've stayed in the Ranchos before, and I like the look of the Casitas, though the Cabanas would also be nice. Did you request your location?

Were there many conventioneers there?

Can't wait for our stay.

Well the funny thing was that when I was checking in the CM told me that our room wasn't ready and I told her that was ok because it was only noon and I asked her what section we would be in. She said we would be in the Ranchos and I asked if she had something in the Cabanas that I was really looking forward to that section, well she found a room and it was ready! So we were able to go straight to the room!

As far as the conventioners, we really only noticed them at lunch in the Pepper Mkt and sometimes at the Maya Grill. There wasn't a problem with the resort being overwhelmed during our stay. We absolutely love CSR and will stay there again. I would like to try other resorts but while we were there we ate at other resorts so we could kind of tour and I even liked the pool at Coronado better than the Volcano Pool at the Poly. Although the monorail can't be beat. But the transportation at CSR was great in fact we were catching the downtown Disney bus to catch the AKL bus to eat @ Boma and our bus driver asked us where we were going and I told him and he drove us straight over to AKL! He said that they were really slow and it was a very short drive.

And one more thing I can't say enough about the Maya Grill it was great! The cornbread rolls w/ peppers and you dip them in olive oil w/ parsley, lime, garlic, and I can't remember what else they said was in it but it was Delish!

Vanyel, when you get back I'd love to hear how your stay was and I'd love to hear about the Casitas. The CM, Taljta (msp) told me she was very happy to help someone get the room they desired so be sure and ask it won't hurt.

Ktink may I suggest you try breakfast at Pepper Market. They have great omelets. I totally agree with you about the cornbread rolls. Yum, Yum!! :rotfl:

How did you like the Dig Site?

Just got back this afternoon from 3 nights at CSR - we liked it but I have to say I still like Port Orleans French Quarter better. I am not sure what it is about POFQ that I like better?? We liked Pepper Market but made the mistake the first day of getting the Mexican special (it was a beef tostada - and the beef and beans tasted like they were straight out of a can - also could be because my DH is from New Mexico and we are used to REAL Mexican food) The other times we ate there it was good - we had chicken quesadillas and that was really good (the chef even customized it because I wanted jalepenos inside) then last night we had market nachos and that was good as well. To the OP sorry your DH got scolded for getting his own refills - I had the refillable mug and went into Pepper Market numerous times to get it refilled and no one said anything to me.

We stayed in Casitas 4 - almost to Casitas 5 - so it was a good hike to El Centro but it could have been worse if we were staying in Ranchos. They do have golf cart trams that continually run around the lake so if you are lucky you can hop on one of those and catch a ride to El Centro - I did that yesterday and today (as our legs and feet were killing us!!)

Any other questions about CSR or the Casita's, crowd level (which I must say was pretty good - beside yesterday - but I attribute that to it being Saturday - Thurs and Friday was great - we just walked on rides.) just ask!!

TnTsParty....

I laughed about your comment on Mexican food. I had ADR's for Artist Point. I then realized that it was probably a mistake.

I live in Oregon. Most of the food and Wine at Artist Point is flown in from Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.

Copper River salmon is really good, but it gets to Oregon before it gets to Florida :rotfl2:

I decided to go for the cuisine that is from areas other than home so as not to be disapointed.

Got reservations for CRT lunch instead. Much worse food, but my daughter will love it. princess:

Glad you had a great trip! Very excited have my reservations at CSR for Oct 2-10th at cabana's 9a or b because of the convient location. Thanks so much for all your helpful info!!! You made me look forward to my trip even more (if that's possible) :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :wave2:

How did you like the Dig Site?

We LOVED the Dig Site. We all went down the Jaguar slide and had a ball. The hot tub was nice too! The Myan Ruins theme was just beautiful. In fact because of the Dig Site we weren't that impressed w/ some of the other resorts because their pools just couldn't hold up.

Thanks for your post!!! We are looking forward to staying at this resort later in the month! Only 10 days until we leave!!!

We really liked Concourse Steakhouse - it was great steak. Last trip we only had counter service and my DH didn't really care too much for the food - but this trip was much better. We didn't get the chance to eat at Maya Grill but it looked good.

We didn't swim at the Dig Site but we did swim in the quiet pool by Casitas 4. It was really nice after a hot day at AK.

Can you tell me what you ordered at the Maya Grill?
I have dinner reservations for the middle of the week while we're there.
TIA!

Glad to hear you liked your stay. We were all set to do a stay at the Polynesian this October but now have some huge unexpected car bills and are considering down-grading to a moderate.

I would love the answers to the following:
1. Is there a fridge in the room?
2. Since there is only one sink in the room, do you feel like there was enough room/facilities for a group of 4 to get ready in the morning?
3. We are looking at a waterview room, do the Cabanas qualify for this category? Ideally, we would like to be close to the pool.
4. Was the resort noisy since it is such a big resort (lots of people everywhere?)?

Thanks so much for the information!

Sorry to hear about that. It's always something.

I would love the answers to the following:
1. Is there a fridge in the room? - Yes
2. Since there is only one sink in the room, do you feel like there was enough room/facilities for a group of 4 to get ready in the morning? There are 3 in our party and we never have any issues
3. We are looking at a waterview room, do the Cabanas qualify for this category? Yes Ideally, we would like to be close to the pool. cabana 8a is a great option.
4. Was the resort noisy since it is such a big resort (lots of people everywhere?)? we never experienced any noise excpet at the main pool but that is just normal noise levels.

We were lucky - I had a standard view booked and already paid for and when we checked in (on Thursday before noon) I asked if we could have a water view. The CM got on the phone and when she got off she said "she oked it for you" So I got a FREE upgrade - I was really happy!! Except I will know for the future to ask for a king sized bed as they have 2 double beds and with my DH being 6'1 he takes up the whole bed. I was just more comfortable sleeping in my own bed (some may find it odd but it was more comfortable!!) I just wanted to coment that the beds are small. Not sure what your family of 4 is like but you might want to consider that.
