Spent a wonderful 4 days at Cabin #8023 last week with my family. The finishes are beautiful and the screened in patio is bigger than pictured. Having the private hot tub was a definite plus! Having said that, I was disappointed that I had trouble with the dishwasher which involved maintenance 2x to my room, including one time that they had to get my adult son out of bed to reset circuit breakers in spare bedroom. There was an electrical outlet not working in main living room causing a lamp and the phone not to work, another maintenance issue and when they moved the couch to fix, there was a brochure from Halloween as well as empty candy wrappers under the couch. There was no tea kettle or spare blanket in the whole unit (I called housekeeping) The place is beautiful but they are still working out kinks. I did speak to a DVC manager who agreed that there were too many issues for my stay and offered me compensation to make up for it. It is important that things are brought to their attention so that they can remedy them. There is alot of wildlife there, especially at night when we saw raccoons and deer so don't leave room service trays outside. Geyser Point restaurant is a wonderful addition and the bar was full each night as we returned home. The afternoon we ate there they had no physical menus and we were referred to the MyDisneyExperience app to view the menu! One note: there are all these switches for shades and blackout shades which work beautifully; however, we had a couple sleeping in the pullout couch which faces the 2 way fireplace and there is no cover for that and neighbors from the next unit could see into our unit that way. A small inconvenience but to be aware, a design flaw. You can see the nightly fireworks over the Contemporary and clearly see the Electrical Water parade nightly from the hot tub/patio.

lot of issues there. I'll wait a few years till things are better to stay there

Sometimes new projects have design issues and or quality issues with the construction. BLT had several issues, water, HVAC, no window shears, sinks that had to be relocated and locks missing on the bathroom doors. Kidani had reversed hot and cold water lines on the clothes washers. Hopefully the electrical issues were fixed and not a bigger issue for all of the units. Housekeeping is an issue at all of the resorts unfortunately.

Did the hot tube have a temperature control or was it non-adjustable?

Do they have keurig or standard coffee pots? Could you see the fireworks from your deck? We're staying there in April and I'm hoping some of those kinks will be worked out.

I think seeing fireworks from the porch would depend on the location of your cabin. The ones closer to the villas might have that view, but might be less noisy from the boat traffic.

Standard basket filter 12 cup coffee pot that all DVC villas have.

We are arriving at the cabins this Sunday for 4 nights. I have requested 8023 -8026 as we wanted to be away from"civilization". I might change that to 8024 -8026.

Thanks Bobbi. Cathie and I are really looking forward to the cabins. I'll do a report as soon as I can.

Wow, I'm sorry you had so many issues in the cabin. I have to say we were there recently and didn't encounter anything like what you did. Disappointing, yes, but I'm glad you still had a great trip.

It's not adjustable but we found it nice and hot.

Amen!!! It always drives me crazy when members/guests have issues but don't say anything until after they are back home. That helps NO one. It's a hassle, but I applaud your reporting all these issues and pursuing it cordially with a manager. That is the right thing to do, and all the members/guests staying in the same cabin have YOU to thank! Good work! :dogdance:
