Just wanted to share some thoughts after a brief but much needed break from reality. BWV are my home resort and I truly love my resort but I will concede to the many reports of tired and worn rooms. Nothing that would in any way ruin our stay but the washer sounded like a jet engine (fixed after a call) and just not quite as crisp as other rooms we have had. And DH can't believe we don't have new TV's yet....told him they are being switched over at all the resorts at some point. The scary thing was that the resort was as empty as I have ever seen. Granted this is a slow time but I have been in Sept several times and never seen anything like it......no one in the lobby, very few people on the Boardwalk day or night and the pools still had tables and chairs available at 2pm.....The valets told me it is the slowest they had ever seen. We did spend very little time in the parks but they were slow also....not like the resort but quiet. We did tour the Contemporary models and I love them....We have all the points we need so no addon there but would love to spend a couple of days there sometime. They are bright and fun looking and yes "contemporary" in a kind of timeless way.

Thanks for the report, I'll be there in 3 weeks!

I think September is slow for DVC, especially when the WDW resorts have free dining.

Regarding the TV's, keep in mind that the cost comes out of maintenance dues. They are not going to replace them until they are due and there is money in the reserve fund. They are also going to have to replace the cabinets to house a flat screen.

Thanks for the info! We will be leaving for BWV on Sunday!! :cool1: I hope the crowds (or lack of) are the same when we get there. We also want to get over to the BLT models to check them out. I'm looking forward to a semi-relaxing trip - less park days (1 or 2), maybe a water park visit, MNSSHP one night and a little grazing aroung WS for F&W!! :goodvibes We are not owners at BWV but it's a favorite of ours - our boys love the BW at night (so do we!) - you just can't beat the location! Glad you had a fun getaway.

We were there too ... with the few people, we likely ran into each other in the halls at some point. ;)

One other thing to note is that F&W Starts today, so it could just be that this was the calm before the storm ... similar to what happens before Thanksgiving Week maybe?

Hi: We'll add to the crowds! 19 of us will be there for a week starting on Wednesday, October 1. Many of us are looking forward to grazing around the Food & Wine Festival. It will be neat because 2 of the adults have never been there before. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate as well.

Glad you had a good stay and that they took care of your noisy washer! Thanks for the post!

studios at BWV still don't have DVD players in the room. Our maintence fees are not being used to update anything at BW. Last two or three visits there the tv cabinet has been broken and maintenance has said there is nothing they can do.

Thats crazy that it was so empty. I tried to get a last minute room reservation for a studio anywhere for last Saturday night and there was nothing available. So there must have been people in all those rooms- maybe they were hiding? :goodvibes

DW and I are heading to BWV tomorrow...nice to hear that the crowds are small, so apparently free dining was not such a hit after all !!!! BW and standard view are booked up for this weekend, so maybe F&W is what is pullin people in.

Hot, cold, crowded, etc. doesn't really matter ...5 days out of the office is worth it's weight in gold.

Truth be told, the less crowded, the happier I am. I love it when it's quiet (especially the parks). Makes me feel like it's all there for us, when we want it, not when we can get it. Isn't that terrible??:lmao:

I'll be there in 2 weeks, and expect a crowd with the F&W going on. I hope my room is in good condition, I'm bringing a friend and wouldn't be happy in a room not up to standard with a "guest" along. Although we've never encountered a problem room. Load washer, yeah - no big deal we tend to run the laundry when we leave, so it's done when we come back :goodvibes

As long as things aren't smelly or falling apart or clearly dirty, that's a good room to me. Only once were we in a room where there was some mildew in the grout between the tiles in the shower stall. That freaked me out (one of my pet peeves) and I called mousekeeping - it was gone in a few hours.

Other than that, a scratch on furniture, or a broken handle on a drawer, or scuff marks on a wall don't mean a thing to us. Place is still gorgeous, and as a matter of fact, these things make it more "homey" and less "hotelish" to us. We certainly don't sweat the small stuff and BW will always be a fav for us. BLT will never hold this charm, it's just not our cup of tea.
