I just recently returned from a trip that started with three nights at the Hard Rock Hotel, followed by three nights at Disney's Vero Beach Resort, and culminated with a three night stay at Disney's Beach Club Villas. If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask! By the way, the BCV alligator is still stopping by for daily snacks. The WDW crowds during Easter week were massive and really made me appreciate the front of the line priveleges that Universal offers to hotel guests (the free Smashmouth concert at Universal Studios was pretty cool too!).

Not so glad to be back!

How was your trip? What type of room did you stay in at VB?

Did you enjoy your stay at VB?

I'd love to hear more about your Universal stay and how you think it compared to Disney.

:D

Being a very loyal Disney customer, I am very uncomfortable saying that my stay at the Hard Rock Hotel was the highlight of my trip. Although the room did not compare with a two bedroom at BCV or VB, the front of the line access more than made up for the cramped quarters. I was at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure when the gates opened and was able to hit all the rides in both parks in approximately four hours. The free Smashmouth concert at USF was terrific (they played all of their hits) and the New Jimmy Newtron motion odyssey ride was a big hit with the kids. Another aspect of the Hard Rock Hotel that I liked was the beach cabanas. On checkout day, I had to wait until 6 PM for friends to arrive and renting the pool cabana gave my family a comfortable place to hang out by the pool without having to compete for pool chairs. The pool cabana came with a refigerator stocked with soda and a TV (very handy for watching the MCI Classic from Harbour Town. At both VB and BCV, I stayed in a two bedroom. The room at BCV was terrific (1st floor with view of the quiet pool - I believe that it was room 154). As I stated earlier, the crowds at the park were massive! After learning my lesson on day one at Disney Studios, I got up early and hit the parks offering early entry for hotel guests (made a big difference). I've been to WDW 14 times in the last 10 years and am officially ready for a moratorium (I've already booked a 7 day cruise on DCL for next year). The Vero Beach portion of the trip was very relaxing (except for those darn no-see-um bugs!). The surf was very rough, as it always is in April (definitely not suitable for little ones - not even wading). I had an interesting experience while boogie boarding when I looked up and saw everyone on the beach jumping up and down and yelling Shark! It turned out to be a wing tip of a sting ray, but definitely got the blood pumping. Overall an excellent trip - no complaints. During the trip, I ate at Mythos, Oak Tree Tavern, and Sunset Grill at Universal. While at Disney, I ate at San Angel, Mama Melrose, Tony's, Yaughtsman Steakhouse, Pizzafari, and Rainforest Cafe. If anyone has any questions or would like a recommendation for any of these restaurants, don't hesitate to ask. Also, I ate at Shutters and Sonjya's

Thanx for the report, VB Bum. It sounds like you had a good trip overall. I guess we had better remember to bring the deet to VB.....

We are headed to VB at the end of the month...haven't been in two years so we are so ready to go back! Anything new at Shutters or Sonyas? Also, do they still have Chicken Salad sandwiches at Bleachers?? or anywhere else? (Dh loves those darn things) LOL!

How are the activities at VB right now? Anything good??
Thanks and glad to hear you had such a good time!
