We are just in from a day at Aquatica.
I have to say I am pretty impressed with it overall.
First thing though is that the website said it opened at 10AM, but when we got there at 9:45 it was already open and people were up on the towers queuing for the slides etc.
First thing was we had to report at a small room near guest relations to book in for our Cabana rental. All our party had to report, and I wasnt sure if this was for us to get a wrist band or anything, so even though I had only paid for the 4 person basic price, I thought it best we all turned up, even though we would probably have to pay the $30 extra per person.
There were no bracelets to get, and we didnt get charged any extra. A guide took us to our Cabana which was over buy a wave pool. While we were waiting, some british guy was there complaining that the park was open before 10 which meant he had in his words "wasted an hour"....not sure what he expected them to do about it, but what they did was nothing, which I was quite pleased about as he seemed abit of an a$$hole (for complaining about something so trivial).
The rides were pretty impressive, but nothing new, more of the type you get at the other parks. The kids really liked them though. The queue lengths were'nt bad atall for the first 3 hours or so, but got quite bad later on in the afternoon.
I paid for the $20 eat all you can all day meal thing, and treated myself to 6 burgers, and a load of other stuff. The area for this is walled off, so it would be pretty difficult to sneak a non payer in. The food range was OK, but there was quite a bit unlabeled that I didnt know what it was. I thought the Potato Salad was Ice Cream
I caught the sun somewhat, theres not a lot of shade to be found on a water park, and as usual I was more bothered making sure the kids were well protected, and neglected myself !
I think we will be paying the park another visit in the next couple of weeks.
