Hi there - just wanted to let people know the following about AOA this week

1) We asked for a fridge at check in and they sent one up right away (they also took it as soon as we checked out so they are popular lol - ask and I imagine they will try to get you one)

2) We called and asked 3times for an override of the air conditioning unit and they would not send anyone to do it. It wasnt unbearable but I would of liked it cooler.

3) Watch your kids stuffed animals - our sons beloved stuffie was left on the bed and must have ended in the laundry - no more stuffie and he's had it since he was a baby :( Still waiting to hear from lost and found.

4) The Lion King play area was down for refurbishment the whole time we were there 16th-25th of July. Bummer.

5) Lots of Pop Century lifevests at the Big Blue Pool (take that however you wish)

6) Cozy Cone pool is super quiet

7) The mug colors are pink, blue, and black (people seem to ask a lot on here)

8) The walk is really not that bad from Little Mermaid to main building people - and I am out of shape! I've walked longer in Vegas hotels to the front desk. Ask for building 9 or 7 (8 is furthest away)

9) The food court food is really good, the pasta is tasty, the line ups insane - yes its unorganized. And ask what comes with the kids meals - sometimes you get a drink and 2 sides (apple juice, pudding, carrots etc).

Hope that helps a few people out - we really liked the resort overall.

Glad to see you enjoyed the food. Was curious if the pasta was good. Was it a good portion too? Plan on eating there quite often for our January trip, hope it's not too crowded (read quite a bit about lines).

Did you have a medical reason for the fridge?

No medical reason for the fridge - just asked nicely! and the pasta was soooooo good - I had it 4x.

When we toured AoA, I did think the walk was a little long, but my biggest beef with it was that there are no trees (since it's still so new) so it was a longer walk in pure sunlight. Did you feel that way or have the trees started filling in a bit more in the last year?

Thanks for the update. I'm hoping we get a fridge.

Did you get the location you asked for and where were you?

Oh that is not good news about the air-conditioning. We are planning a family trip, two suites, for late August 2014. I can not stand a room that isn't cool. And I can't sleep in heat at all. My son (who will have the second suite with his wife and 4 kids, is just like me and will NOT stay if they don't over ride the air-conditioning limits. :sad2:

Press the Power & Down Temp Control Buttons at the same time
The display will show BP (bypass)
This turns off the sensor setting

Then set the temp to what you want

You may have to do this every 24 hours as they automatically reset to the sensor.

Oh lordy, I hope this means that the hotel has borrowed vests from Pop and not that Pop people are sneaking over to swim at AoA. That will really annoy me if I see this. We scraped together the money to stay here vs. Pop, and passed up free dining and discounts all so that my son can swim in their pool and play in the Nemo water splash area. I really hope that people are honest and stay at their own pools :crazy2:

Glad you enjoyed your stay!

The pasta is amazing. I'm a big eater, and my wife is a moderate eater....and one bowl of create your own pasta is enough to fill us both up totally and still take some back to the room.

Thanks! Good to hear. I, too, am a big eater and was hoping it would be enough to eat.

We did indeed get the room request we asked for - building 9, closest to food court, first floor. we were close to the pool, parking lot (we had a car rental) and were within a stones throw of the lion king rooms. And the pasta is a good size!
