We just returned from four nights at AKL. This was our second time staying there and again we absolutely loved it! We were there from 9/9 - 9/13. The weather was a little humid, but no rain, it was perfect. We literally walked on every attraction. We never waited over 5 minutes in any park, which made it perfect with a two year old. The bus service from AKL to the parks was great, we never waited long. We ate breakfast at Boma's which was delicious. I told me DH that I am already going to start planning a trip for next year at this time. There was nothing negative about this trip, every CM was great and we overall had a magical time. This time we tried the Hoop De Doo Review and it was worth every penny. Excellent show and dinner. We had a deluxe water view room on the 5th floor, Zebra trail.

Thanks for letting me share!

Thanks for the review! I will be there next week!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Reports like this always make me smile!! So glad you had a great time!! :teeth:

Great Review - I stayed there in August and I miss it! I loved. I did not have such fortune with the buses but I am thinking that was due to Hurricane Charley and the skeleton crew! I would stay there again though.

Glad you enjoyed it. We can't wait for another trip to AKL.

We find our stays there wonderful every time!

We returned 9/7 after 7 days there, including 2 during Hurricane Frances. We were given a free upgrade to Sunset Savanna and saw 3 giraffes feeding outside our balcony nearly every morning -- their browse was placed in a feeder attached to a tree. We loved the resort overall, but felt the food at The Mara was disappointing. We enjoyed dining at Boma and Jiko, including special "hurricane buffets". The pool was beautiful but the slide was down for major repair during our entire 7 days. The laundry room was wicked small for a resort this size -- I was spoiled at CSR where I had the entire facility to myself. Those are the only negatives. We would love to stay there again, given an AP rate. The bus service was excellent -- there was often a bus waiting at the stop. We never had a chance to try out the on-site activities.

Thanks for the review. I am going there in Nov. and have a deluxe water view room. What was the room like? And how was the food at Boma? My mom is very conventional with what she likes to eat and I am trying to convince her to give it a try.

Thanks again!!!

I'm not NBFUN but I can tell you most of the food at Boma, at least for dinner, is un-conventional but worth giving a try. For the most part, you cannot tell from the name of the dish what is in it, but the chefs are nearby and very helpful. My son ate mostly fresh fruit, the kids meatballs and spaghetti and the crispy flatbreads. My daughter also stuck to fruit and pasta but tried the African stew and liked it. They do have familiar items like prime rib and roast pork, with sauces on the side. Many of the vegetables are combinations and they have casserole-like items too. The only foods I avoided were some of the salads, but only because I did not want to get filled up. The soups were out of this world, but with rather exotic spices.

Thanks for the great details. It is true, I've looked at the menu and wasn't able to really tell what it would be like. I appreciate your help!
