As for the Channel 96 cartoons thing, we had a few long posts in the Resorts board on this. The end result -- that channel is available on TVs in the majority of the resorts but Channel 96 is not always programmed into the TV, as Dean said. If it's not - you would have to go into the menu setups and add that channel back in to find it. So I plan on checking it out at Kidani this week myself!

As with everything..To each his own...

We are new to DVC and at this point I am happy to be able to just spend our Disney vacation on property. We stayed our 1st trip on Developer points at SSR in a 1BR this past August. We were in the grandstand building. I personnaly did not care for the decor. Not my thing. My friend who owns at SSR just LOVES it. She never stays anywhere else.

We stayed at our home AKV at Kidani in a 1BR SV the 2nd trip this December. I LOVED the room so much more. The boys were thrilled with the sleeper chair (just becuase they did not have to share the pullout). We loved having the 2 bathrooms. The walk to Jambo was very short. I think we were parked in the Rafiki section. We were just to the right where you come into the garage.

Just an FYI, from one of the CM's that was out in the Savannah putting out food one AM. The animals are usually not put out in the morning. They put them out later in the day because the guests want to see them when they return from the parks. We did not see animals any morning we were there.

We will be returning next month during Pres Week. And will be in a Studio at OKW. (Decided to throw in an extra trip since we have the AP's this year). waitlist came through. We were originally booked again at SSR and would prefer not to stay there, but that was all that was available and I was fine with that. I am hoping to book VB for the end of Aug for a few days before our Wonder cruise.

That will be it for us until the Summer of 11....we will return with friends and Stay in a 2BR at AKV. 1 of mine and all 3 of their children will be graduating
(5th & 8th grade) and they all want to go to Disney to celebrate.

I love the flexibility DVC gives us. And I am sure I will like some resorts over others. But for me being at Disney in a resort that I might not LOVE is better than not being at Disney at all!!!!!

I will be there next weekend - Friday and Saturday before our cruise, so I'll do my best to remember to report back at the beginning of February! My kids always like to watch that channel so we will have to check it out!

96 was not a network. It was just a channel that showed continous disney cartoons in a loop. Was the best station they had, IMO !

Kidding of course, you are certainly entitled to your opinions. I know what its like to have a sick kid on vacation. Hopefully everyone will be healthy on your next trip and it will be more enjoyable for all.

I got a chuckle when you were mentioning the gloves. We were down in January a couple years ago and in MK on January 1. We had just come off Space Mountain through the gift shop and after a few steps outside, it just started to pour. We went back into the Space Mountain gift shop to pull our dollar store ponchos out of my backpack and as if by magic there were 2 foot tall stacks of Mickey ponchos along the cash desks and a line up 20 deep to buy them (at $6 a pop, as I recall). The Mouse does not waste time when it comes to meeting immediate weather needs!

Hope the next trip is better!

We were at Kidani during marathon weekend, our first stay at our home resort and we just loved it! I love that DVC gives all of us so many options. This year we are staying at BVC, VWL, VGC and BWV!

The savanna had a ton of animals on it but it was a bummer that it was cold and we couldnt watch them much!

Also our 1 bedroom was HUGE!

I can't wait to try out Jambo.
