the only negative thing happened at check in, when it came our turn we walked up to the counter and the lady was standing there useing her keyboard and all of the sudden walked away through a door. i stood there for five or more minutes and no one aknowledged me. another counter person walked by and i told her what was happening and she said "WELL THATS CAUSE SHE WENT TO LUNCH" and kept going. so i got back in line. i thought it was just me untill the lady behind me in line said "i cant believe she was so rude". when my turn came again i got a nice girl and told her what had happened as i did the rude one must have heard and she left her customers and came over and said "I WAS NOT RUDE TO YOU I WAS JUST TELLING YOU THE WAY IT WAS, YOU SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN LINE TILL SOMEONE CALLED YOU" and away she went. the girl i was working with said she could not believe she came into her space to do that and wanted to get me a manager. i said no it might get her into more trouble than i would wish on her. i did however accept a free upgrade from standard view to savanna (sic) view. the place was great and everyone else was wonderful. the food was superb and the bellman that took us and our luggage to the room gave us a mini tour of the property. i would recommend this resort to anyone. any questions feel free to ask.

Hmmm, I think I had a run in with that one too. Was she big boned with light brown hair in some sort of an up do and looked like she should be working in a women's prision in Russia?:teeth:

So sorry about that rude CM, but, I'm glad you didn't let it affect your trip. Happy to hear about your free upgrade....how magical. Can you tell me what trail you were on and room number please?
How was your view?

Takes all kinds, doesn't it?
Funny you posting this. It reminds of an experience I had at AKL in that area.
First, I have never stayed over night at AKL. Eaten there and toured the lobby, yes. ;)
One evening we were there I was coming from the ladies restroom. Laying on the floor right outside the door was a women's soaking wet outdoor type sweater. (It was pouring outside.)
No one was around, so I went to the guest check in area, as that was the only CM's I saw.
Someone was checking in, and luckily I had plenty of time, so I stood there and patiently waited until the (only) CM was available.
The guest left the desk after awhile. Another CM even came out and the two were chatting casually to each other. Me still waiting patiently not even five feet away, awaiting their permission to approach.
Finally I just went up to give of them the wet sweater.
Did I get Looks-Could-Kill stares. I obviously invaded their territory without their request.
I ignored them, even though they were doing their best to ignore me, and laid the sweater on the counter and explained (nicely) where I found it.
Once they realized I didn't want any of their time, they were half nice and thanked me.
But I thought at that time, had I been a paying guest at a deluxe resort I would have expected much better treatment. They were just snooty and acted like I was an inconvenience. I didn't know if it was just the end of a long day or what. But first impressions often come at check in, and that experience has always stayed with me when deciding what resort to stay in. Might have been minor. But what if I was a guest with a not so minor problem?

I would of spoken to the manager. Coming from the hospitality industry, the front desk starts and ends your hotel experience. They should be the best of the best, thus I feel that there is NO EXCUSE for treatment like what you experinced.

I would at least shoot an email to wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com
to alert them to what happened to you.

patio, im not much for remembering sections i think it was Arusha? the room was 4222 . there were 3 of us so they suggested a room with a bunk bed. i think it may have been a bit smaller than one with 2 doubles but it was quite adequate and we liked it very much
