I just got back from 8 days at Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo) and it was my first time! It is a beautiful resort. We got upgraded to savannah view, which was awesome. There were always plenty of animals out the window to look at.
I loved the Mara. The pastries were good for breakfast, but the standout for me was the falafel pita with couscous for dinner! That stuff was good (I hate greasy falafel, and this was pretty good).
The thing I didn't love was the darkness. I knew about this going in, but I wasn't prepared for HOW dark it was going to be. I am more of a bright and breezy girl, and I made a special trip to go back to Boardwalk Inn for a bit to add some sunlight back in my life. This isn't something I couldn't live with--just not my thing.
The other thing I couldn't get into was the smell of the smoked meat from Boma every time I entered the lobby. My parents used to own a barbeque restaurant, so this is a very sensitive smell for me (I just don't like it). I would say that if you don't like the smell of smoking meats, you probably should hold your breath in the lobby
Overall, LOVED it, but probably won't be making it my permanent home (that still belongs to Boardwalk Inn).
