Just Back from A week at the World

It wouldn't help the problem of booking and not using. But closing the loophole (which seems easy to me) would reduce the number booked if people are booking, let's say, their family's four bands for only themselves to go to the parks. Plus the people who are buying extra tickets for more FPs.

:faint: and that could possibly be the straw to my camel, lol. $10 each would be pretty harsh, but I could see $10 a day per person happening. If there's a way to ca$h in, Disney will do it.

I don't think they will ever sell them now. I don't think they would have put in the rolling 4th (that was probably a decision point) I think what's left after everyone pre-books now is such slim pickings that it's not worth it.

Yep, makes total sense! :) Hopefully they do have some sort of perks they are offering them.....maybe merchandise/food discounts?

They do have discounts of some sort. And can purchase the TIW card, which I believe DVC owners and FL residents can also purchase. Their getting their FP at 60 days seems like a logical perk to me. Limited them to 30 days is sure not an incentive to someone who is on the fence about purchasing an AP

Are people really doing this? That is crazy stuff. That's an expensive way to ride a couple more rides. Where is the logic here?

100% correct.
As long as people can make FP+ reservations in advance and not be in the park when they make them, there is no workaround for this. The system cannot differentiate between a person who makes a FP+ reservation 7 days in advance for 10:00-11:00, and enters the park at 10:55 and uses the FP, versus the person who makes a FP+ reservation 7 days in advance for 10:00-11:00, and never enters the park. The system cannot "cancel out" that FP slot until 11:01 whether the person is in the park or not. And by 11:01, it is too late to go back and fill the slot.

The only solution would be for the system to keep track of people who make FP reservations and who do not redeem them. Do that too many times and they could take away your privileges. Disable your MDE account or disable your MB.
We have AP's to the parks and since I'm not much of a planner (actually not one at all), I like the fact that I can make lots of reservations and only use them if I happen to decide to go to the park that day. I tend to always have my allowed 7 days worth of visits booked so typically we will have 3 reservations per person for nearly every Saturday/Sunday during the month if I think there's even a chance we might go. I figure I'm doing my part to help the non-planners such as myself in the standby lines by having about 6 days worth of "no shows" each month. :)

That's cute you think $10 would be harsh.

People buying single day, or even 3-4 day tickets are paying $60 plus for 3 FP+. At $10 each, they would sell out instantly. Who wouldn't buy 3 or 4 FPs for the family to avoid another day of park entry?

They would be AT LEAST $20 each during high season. During dead season, they would gladly sell them for $10 to the unwashed masses not realizing they are being scammed.

The would have to be expensive enough to prevent it from making people less likely to buy another day admittance.
