Just back tonight from a wonderful 6 night stay in room 1520 (first floor, garden view) at the Polynesian Concierge. We checked in on Saturday around 5 pm. Bellman took us right to our room in a golf cart and said we could check in whenever we wanted. I had requested a 1st floor room in a quiet location, bedrails, complete bedding change (DD with allergies), and a Lilo doll, autograph book and pen to be put in the room upon arrival. I had confirmed all my requests by email about 3 day prior and was assured that everything was noted and would be ready upon our arrival We were meeting family at 6:30 so we were kind of in a hurry. Well the location was great but none of the other requests had been taken care of including the surprises for my DD. Lucianno checked us in and was very sorry and said someone had dropped the ball but he would take care of everything while we were gone. When we arrived back everything was there and a surprise $40 Stitch talking toy was also in the room at no charge. Nice touch. Anyway, the rest of the week was great! Enjoyed the food offerings and the sodas and water for the parks. Let me know if you have any questions. We would go back to the Polynesian in a heart beat!

JRoglitz,

Thanks for the comments. I have a question regarding the "dinner" offerings. We had tentatively planned to make a light evening meal from these. Is that a possibility based on what was offered while you were there?

We leave in 46 1/2 days. I am SO excited!!!

Each night at dinner they had a different small dish. They also had out each night cut veggies and cheese with dip and crackers. We couldn't make a meal out of the items but I guess you could depending on how much you like to eat and if you are not really picky. They had small plates set out not dinner plates. The items I remember were ceasar salad with chicken breast, swedish meatball stew (I think) with rice, and an oriental chicken and veggies dish with lo mein noodles and spring rolls. The other nights we were out during the dinner servings. We did take advantage of the breakfast most mornings. Nothing out at lunch time but cookies and drinks. Hope this helps.

Actually, that helps a lot. It is basically the information we were relying on, but I like to have an update from someone who has been there so recently. We plan to have many of our lunches as buffet meals so a true "dinner" won't be necessary, just appetizers and then maybe dessert.

Thanks again!

JRoglitz,
Thanks for the great review. My family & I are going down to the Poly for Christmas. My first trip back since 78 & hubby & kids first trip EVER!!! We're also staying GV concierge & I was wondering how you liked your room. Did you have a nice view? How was the room itself? We've requested first floor but it might be nice to request an actual room number. Thanks again! Can't wait to leave now:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

JRoglitz,
We were in room 1521~ just got back yesterday!
We really enjoyed our room/stay. Last year we had a LV room, but found we weren't in the room nearly enough to go the extra $$ for the view for this trip. I also, would go back again in a hearbeat (hopefully, we will!)

Thanks JRoglitz for the great details. We are staying GV concierge in December and can't wait! How did you like your room?

We loved our room. We were pleasantly surprised since I had read that some people thought the rooms needed updating. We found ours to be very well kept and no visable repairs needed. There was plently of space. We had stayed at the WL previously and thought the rooms to be cramped. The bathroom was very nice too. The tub was alittle oversized I think. At least it felt that way because I love a nice hot bath after the little one goes to sleep. Be careful on the floor when wet. Very easy to slip. Room 1520 was 2nd to the last away from the lounge. I requested this for quiet time during naps. There was a clump of trees and brush just outside so it hid the walkway some and the quiet pool. I never heard and noise even at night. Alitte bit of a walk to the lounge but my DD loved to run down the hall and race her father.

tinofan...

So you were right next door? Were you closer to the lounge or the last room by the exit? Did you have alittle girl with blond hair? Abbie was playing with the ducks one morning and a nice little girl was talking with her. We didn't want to pay the extra for the view and it was just a short walk around to the beach and pool. Abbie LOVED the pool.

tinofan...we were in 1521 in June. I thought the view was so pretty. Earlier this month we were in 1508 and I loved having a castle view (hadn't had that for years) but thought 1521 seemed much more private. Loved them both though.

Not sure on some posts which mention having a view -- I am most definitely going to be upset if we paid the adtl money for LV and not have castle view. Any LV rooms which have particularly good (or not) views of Cinderella's castle? Thanks.

Hi there,
We were in 1521 10/19-10/25. Yes, JRoglitz, we have 3 blonde haired girls, and I remember one day the people next to us were feeding the ducks and our kids were out there. We were closer to the lounge from your door.

great location, nice room, pretty view of the palms.

:D
