All that I can say is......wow!! The one story BWV Grand Villa is really something. I've never seen the OKW Grand Villas in person, but I can't imagine needing any more space than the Villa that we had. Not including the kitchen itself and the foyer, the living/dining area was 800 sq. ft.
We were in room 3037 and the balcony and the view was just spectacular. The balcony ran the length of the villa, the main part being about 55 ft long and 10 ft wide. The master bedroom and the far bedroom had private balconies.
The living room has two sitting areas. One focused around the TV and another in the center of the room. The dining room table easily seats 10. And a nice feature in the GV is that the other two bedrooms have 2 queen beds instead of a bed and a couch.
Some things we noticed while at BWV. The CM who checked us in could *barely* speak English. This really surprised us and we've never had that happen before. Good thing that we are Disney veterans and have checked in as DVCers in the past or we would have had none of our questions answered.
The Grand Villa itself was very clean, but two of the wooden chairs need to be refinished as the paint is peeling off. We did notice a major renovation going on in another Grand Villa during our stay. The double doors were open and there were drop clothes everywhere, so I'm assuming that major work was being done. So I guess that the rumor about GV rehabs at BWV is true.
Another thing that we should all pretty much demand is that the balconies are powerwashed on a regular basis. Our balcony really needed to be cleaned up. I knew that if I called down that I wouldn't get it done the way that it needed to be done, so we did it ourselves. We went down to the pool and grabbed a bunch of towels. We filled up a bunch of containers with water and spent 15 minutes wiping it down. No, we really should not have to do this ourselves, but like I said, we knew that they'd send up a guy with a squirt bottle, and that wouldn't do it. I did complain about the balcony when we were leaving. We spent lots of evenings and mornings out on the balcony and really enjoyed that space.
Luna Park needs at least one more hot tub. The one that is there now is too small as it is. I really enjoyed the ease of finding a chair at the pool during this trip. We had a couple of sunny afternoons and it was still way easy to secure a spot for all of us. The last time we visited BWV our friends were over at the Yacht and so we met them at SAB every day. Even though it was November, we had a tough time finding chairs for that trip. Pool hopping is much less attractive to me after this trip. It was just so easy going to Luna Park. I really think that SAB will be impossible to enjoy once the BCV are completed. There are simply not going to be enough chairs.
The nighttime noise on the Boardwalk was not an issue. They do have a DJ down by Atlantic Dance on Friday and Saturday night until 11pm, so if you go to bed before then on those nights you might have a problem. However, for us it wasn't an issue because we didn't hit the hay until midnight. The other nights you couldn't hear a thing with the doors shut from the crowds.
The major noise problem we *did* have was a dumb mistake made by Disney. One morning my husband and I were awakened by a truck who was delivering products to the store right below us. It wasn't that the people were talking or that they were loud, but the delivery guy left his truck running for over an hour!! Finally I got up and complained to the front desk. I asked for a manager but none were available at that time.....5:30am!! So I called back later and complained to the manager. I was nice, and so was he and he was clearly upset that someone could be that stupid. He did say that they had no other complaints, but that was probably because we were on the third floor and directly over the truck. Later that day we had 7 food voucher for the Big River Grille slipped under our door. We all really thought that was a nice touch on Disney's part. Especially since we only had 5 of us there. My husband's family couldn't come because of a family emergency. When we did eat at the BRG, we gave the other two vouchers to a couple standing in line behind us.
All in all the BWV staff was very helpful and friendly. We noticed lots of work going on at BWV and the Boardwalk in general during our stay. I didn't notice any lapse at all in the Disney Magic factor. Can't wait to save up enough points to do a GV again in the future.
