We only had limited ADR's but never had a long wait in any location. We did try to go to Coral Reef without an ADR with a party of five. The CM stated that they did not seat parties of five and only seated parties of four. I knew this was not true at least not from previous visits. We were really bummed out about this. The CM did place an ADR for us immediately at Cantina de San Angel which turned out to be very good. I would be happy to provide info and opinions on any of the places we ate if anyone has an interest.

Ate at:
Cantina de San Angel
POFQ Food Court
Bongos
Fultons Crab House
Ghiradelli
Pizzafari
Cosmic Rays
Chef Mickeys
Ohanas
Boulangerie Patisserie
Mama Melrose-Fanstasmic Package
The Land Pavilion
Sci Fi Dine In

Welcome back... 9 Days... WOW....

I am going in September with wife and 3 yr old daughter. I have ADR at Chef Mickey's. Please let me know if you enjoyed it. Was the food good? Characters interacted a lot?

I am considering making an ADR for the Fantasmic package with Hollywood and Vine. Was the Fantasmic package well worth it? How was the section reserved for those on the package? Any pointers?

Thanks!:

We love Chef Mickeys it is our favorite must do every trip. the characters Mickey, Minnie, chip and dale, and Goofy come around and spend a lot of time with you Donald is usually standing for pictures near your check in area. If you have reservations here do not try to wait in long lines at the park you will have a better interaction here with these characters.

Chip and Dale were there? I thought that it was Donald and Pluto. Did you Breakfast or dinner?
Thanks

Chef Mickeys is awesome. Great food and some of the best charecter interaction there is. We have done this twice and all agreed that we will continue to do this as a tradition. Even though my kids are older no wthey still love the place.

On Fantasmic....My wife and I did not consider the Fantasmic Dinner Package a great deal. We ate at Mama Melroses. Our food was not horrible but not that great either. The entry to Fantasmic is the big deal as you do not have to wait in line with the huge throng of visitors. They let you through a back gate and you walk a good ways up a slight incline to the stadium. There is a section completely reserved for the Dinner Package to the far right of the stadium. When we got there we had pretty much our pick of where to sit. I did notice that there were plenty of seats at other spots in the stadium that were not resevered seats. We could have made it into the show with a wait and not had to get the package. My niece (parents are DVC) stated that they get counter service and go to the stadium slightly early. They sit and eat while waiting for the show. They avoid the long wait and line by showing up early but since it is meal time they waste no touring time in doing this. There is not a bad seat in my opinion. You could get closer to the action if you were up front but this was not necessary to see and really enjoy the show. Mid level seats may actually be the best seats. The stadium was packed and reminded me of a concert but there were seats available all around the stadium when we arrived. It was raining a bit that night and they announced that under certain weather conditions they may cancel the show. With the package you would lose here as you are not entitled to a rain check on the seats you have reserved. My wife looked at me and promptly announced that if they cancelled the show after what we paid for our meal and it's lackluster taste, she would be more than a bit aggravated. Of course we understood that this is something that can just happen. With the meal being what it was and he stadium having seats upon our arrival at the place, I believe that we will forego the package deal from now on. Perhaps a different restaurant would have made a difference. This just my opinion. I had never seen Fantasmic and therefore have never waited for a seat. I do not know if the package is worth it to simply avoid the wait. I will say that it would have to be a very significant wait time and threat of no seats to get me to do this again. I did not see a lack of seats really even though the crowd was thick so I can't see the need for me to do this again. Just my personal experience.

I have not seen Chip and Dale at Chef Mickeys. They are at The Land.

Thanks for this info.
I have an ADR booked at Mama Melrose on our MGM day. I have been calling back daily to see if there have been any cancellations for the Fantasmic package, so far there have been none.
I'm glad to see that it may not be a huge deal if we just have to wait for the show.
I'm also a little doubtful about our ADR at Mama Melrose. I have never eaten here before but have read such mixed reviews about the food.
What did you guys order?

so if you have 5 peeople they dont let you come? I dont get it.

That's not true, My family of five has ressies for Coral Reef on September 22.
That wasn't right for that CM to give out that kind of information.

From FutureCinderella88 [/[/U]B][/B]"Thanks for posting, I'd love to know about Fulton's crab house, my mom really wants to check it out!"

I did a Fultons Crab House review on the dining review page.

About the Coral Reef situation....I know they could seat our party but it seemed obvious tha tthey did not want to seat our party without an ADR. This is the only place we went to where we had no ADR but did not get seated. We really love Coral Reef and hate this this happened.

I'd love to hear about Cantina de San Angel. I am thinking about adding this to my list along with Fultons Crab House. I am off to the dining review page now to read your review about Fultons.
