Just got back on Sat after spending 7 days at the world w/DH and almost 3 year old (almost potty trained) DS.

Went to MK, AK, MGM, and MNSSHP twice :thumbsup2 ! (Skipped Epcot, went to Universal instead - compromise w/DH - don't ask!)

We were not on DDP and did mostly counter stuff at the parks, so I really can't comment on the kids menus anywhere.

Went to Playhouse Disney Lunch at MGM, Mickey's Backyard BBQ and Chef Mickey's.

Any questions let me know.

The Playhouse Disney lunch, was that at Hollywood and Vine? With Jojo? Who else was there? And how was the food? What food choice were on the buffet? Would you recommend it?

Hope you had a great trip!

What rides did your 3 yr old like? Did they enjoy seven days? I am going with my 3DS soon. Did you find some healthy choices for foods at the counter?

Playhouse Lunch at Hollywood and Vine was really fun for the little ones - kinda loud, singing and dancing in between tables to theme songs from the Playhouse Disney shows - We met Leo and June from Little Einsteins and JoJo and Goliath. Plenty of time with each when they came around to the tables to sign and take pic's, then they danced with them which was fun.
My little guy is very picky and DH actually made his plate of chicken nuggets and mac and cheese, so sorry, I don't know much about the rest of the kids choices. Main buffet was cold cuts to make sandwiches, salads, 2 different kinds of chicken (the one in the wine sauce was delish), salmon, pot roast that was also really good, mixed veg's and potatoes. There was also a cornbread casserole/spoonbread thing that was absolutely fabulous! I thought it was a really good selection - a little different than standard lunch stuff, but plenty of options. I definitely recommend it.

As far as rides, my DS enjoyed:
MK - Small World (his fave, I actually taped it), Dumbo, Aladdin, Jungle Cruise, Adventures of Pooh, Peter Pan's flight, the race cars in tomorrowland, carousel - he was a little scared in Pirates (more scary since the remodel) and Philharmagic
MGM - Playhouse Disney, Muppets, seeing "The Cars" live, the parade, Backlot tour
AK - Anything with live animals, including the safari, and the ride in Dinosaur land that's like Dumbo but it's dinosaurs.
We skipped Epcot and went to Universal instead (DH's idea) and there were a few things there for him, but we spent most of our time in MK!

There are lots of different counter service places, some healthier than others (grilled chicken vs nuggets), but for the most part, a lot of the counter stuff was typical kid food - PB&J, Hot Dogs, Chicken Nuggets, Burgers. All the places you could choose the sides w/the kids meals and get carrot sticks and grapes in place of fries and applesauce. Most of the menus are on the allearsnet website.

Thanks for the restaurant review. We are going to be trying the breakfast at Hollywood and Vine in January. So hopefully the breakfast will be as good as the lunch!! My DD will be psyched to see June, She always says she is June when she dances!!

Thanks again.

We did the breakfast with Playhouse Disney in September. We thought it was great. The food was fresh and well prepared. There were plenty of options, all standard breakfast buffet items: scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, assorted breakfast meats, pastry, etc. There wasn't as much variety as Crystal Palace, but overall we liked it more.

Thanks professor, glad to have the reassurance!! Can't wait to try it. I love Jojo. Probably more than my DD!
