We just returned from the vacation of a lifetime! I wanted to give two bits of information before I forget and I will eventually try to do a trip report (although the trip reports currently posted are so unbelievably well written that I find it a tad bit intimidating!).
1) Use the ship's laundry service for your ironing. I sent 10 cotton shirts (4 for DH, 6 for three DSs oxford dress shirts) and 3 pairs of boys Docker pants and it was $20.25. It would have taken me 2 hours to iron all that. The prices on the laundry service sheet are for cleaning and pressing, there is a separate column for "Press only" and it is 50% of the dry cleaning price. Shirts were $1.50 each, pants $1.25, skirts $2.25, evening dress $4.00, suits $3.50. I packed my evening dresses in my garment bag inside a Nordstrom bag and did not even need to touch them up. I put DH's suit underneath, no touch up needed! For all other clothing, tshirts, shorts, polo shirts....Downey wrinkle releaser worked better than I thought it would.
2) I went straight to Vista Spa while DH & FIL went to Palo's for ressies. We were third family to board the ship from the nonconcierge line so I would guess it was around 12:45. I was the only person at the Spa and even when I left 10 minutes later no one was there. With that said, I was trying to book a hair appointment plus massage for Thursday for 2nd formal night (DH not a spa guy even for Suriel) and found the times available to be awful. As I said, I had to be the first one up there and there were no names in the reservation book, but they save all the "good" times for couples massages and concierge bookings. Single massages were only offered between 1:00-3:00 on sea days and I saw the reservation book blocking out the rest of the times as "concierge" or "couple massage only". I ended up with the hair appt at 5:30 on Thurs but had to take my massage at 1:00 on Monday.
Please feel free to email me with any questions you might have and thank you to all of you who write trip reports and answer posts because you made our trip the vacation of a lifetime!
