Parks were way more crowded than they have been in the past during the same time frame.
DAH was then made more worth the cost as it was the only time we did not have to force our way through masses of people just to get around. We attended on March 2 and it was more crowded than the pictures I had seen of previous nights but still very empty in comparison to regular park nights.
RoL was a bit of a disappointment-just not very moving IMO. We did the dining package-many people seem to get there very early. We showed up almost an hour before the show and the seats were more than half filled.
Soarin' was AMAZING!! It has always been my favorite in both WDW and DLR and now it is even more so. We experienced it 8 times.
Star Wars dessert party-We did it last year as well and I prefer that version. There were many people walking around in Launch Bay who were not participating in the party and they kept bumping into us as we tried to eat at our table. They need to either limit the attendees to the smaller roped off areas or keep the general public out of that side of Launch Bay while the party is going on.
The new fireworks/projection show is very good, although not as thrilling to me as the original one. My daughter did get a selfie with John Stamos as he was watching the show right next to us in the reserved area-it made her trip!
Wishes Dessert party-we have done many of them before with the terrace seating. This time we went with the Plaza view. We thought it was a better view than the terrace.
Overall, the food was much improved over our last few trips, BOG and CRT in particular. Wait times at most ADRs were VERY reasonable-no more than 10 minutes. This has never happened to us before and we were very pleased.
We had my daughter's 21st birthday dinner at Tiffins-the food was good but some of the portions were laughable small. The beet salad was the smallest serving of food I have ever received.
Here is the cake!
Another highlight for us was my daughter receiving her acceptance to the DCP for next fall while we were having lunch at Mama Melrose-what a day!
Merchandise seemed a bit lacking-same items in every location and many of them have been available for years.
Flower and Garden-a little more than half of the topiaries were the same as the last few years-there were some really cute new ones, the food was very good- we loved everything we tried.
We converted our 10 day hoppers to annual passes. I kept track of how much we saved on dining, merchandise and DAH tickets and that covered the difference in price-well worth it!
We stayed CL at AKL-housekeeping was not great-the CL lounge was okay, we decided we definitely prefer Beach Club CL all around. The buses were fine, no real excessive waits. We did take cabs a few times to other resorts for breakfast and DHS and Epcot-worth the money just to have a quiet ride-Lol.
All in all, a very good trip and now that my daughter is starting there in the fall-I will be able to get my DH and DS to go for at least one nice long trip in November and I will be going probably once a month while she is there!
