Just back from 1st trip HOME - thank you!!!

We are just returning from our first trip home! We stayed at SSR 8/8 - 8/17. We were a bit nervous based on reviews but we LOVED it! We arrived early morning and only waited about an hour for our room. We were located in the Springs and it was PERFECT! We loved the resort so much we ended up only doing one park day. WE spent lots of time at the pool (kids LOVE the slide) and at Community Hall (Hello Sundee!!). We played tennis, pool hopped to OKW for a day, played putt putt at Fantasia Gardens, had the kitchen sink for dinner , and on and on! There was so much to do!

I think I realized that we are not particularly hard to please. We are happy just being together, most times anyway I do have 3 incredible kids that I love spending time with and a great hubby as well. Most enjoyable for us was just a chance to reconnect. We will certainly move on to try the other DVC resorts but we hold a very special place in our hearts for SSR!

Thank you to all who offered advice and help with our very last minute planning - it couldn't have been more perfect!

Wow! A trip with 3 kids and only one park day out of 9? How did you do it?

I'm glad you had a great trip. DVC has really changed the way we vacation. It's the best thing we've ever bought ourselves.

We had the kitchen sink about a year ago for my nieces 1st birthday! It was great to see here little face behind that huge mess of ice cream and toppings!

It sounds like you felt the same about your first trip home as we did -- our home is SSR, though! We loved SSR and wouldn't hesitate to stay there every time, but I am looking forward to trying the other DVC properties as well. Wasn't Community Hall great -- my DD loved it in there -- she made a jump rope, I wish we would have had more time at the resort.

Yes, we LOVED Community Hall! We made so many souvenirs! I was really surprised we only ended up in the parks one day as well. We each had a "special day" where we planned the entire day and no one could complain. We all had to go along with the day that was planned. There were no rules - they planned everything, including meals. Only the 6 year old chose a park - she chose EPCOT. Everyone else's special day included other Disney fun but no parks - go figure!

Hey Neighbor! I was in Congress Park from 8/9-8/15. I wished we'd had more time, but it was my BFF's first trip so we were a little commando. DH and I are coming back in December and I can't wait to spend more time at SSR. I absolutely loved the resort and I'm glad to call it home! Glad to hear you had a great trip!
