Again I want to Thank everyone on these boards for the tips. I felt well informed on what to do & what to see. The only thing I didn't plan on was my son getting sick & needing medical care the first day! :(

Anyway I will be writing a trip report for all my 13 days on the "Trip Report" boards.

Even though the beginning of our trip wasn't exactly fun, I can not wait to go back to the World in December.
I already miss seeing the Mouse! ;)

Welcome back! Can't wait to read your report! I hope your son is feeling better! Lucky you - you can already start planning for your next trip! :)

Sorry to hear that your DS was ill, hope he is better now? Can't wait for the reviews.

I can't wait to hear more. Are you going to post a trip report? I'm the one who PM'd you the packing list! I hope you had everything you needed!!!

Yes, I had everything I needed except a steamer for my son. I had to go & buy one at the local drug store.

I am posting a trip report on the trip report boards. I am up to day 3, hopefully I will finish all my days by the end of the week :)

Thanks for the list again!

Poor baby!!! The hotels should really have stuff like this to loan to guests. I believe I have a humidifier on my list. I brought it one time because my son had a cold. It blocked out "noise" so well that I bring it every trip.

The same thing happened to us on our DS (age 3 1/2) first trip to WDW.We checked into POFQ, ate dinner at Chef Mickey's, rode the monorails and enjoyed the resort before bedtime. At 4am he woke up with an asthmatic attack! It took me (an RN) a while to control it, but he would still need medical care. The CM's were wonderful! After calling the front desk, a humidifier was brought to our room within minutes! Along with a requested map of our location and the locations of nearby hospitals and clinics. DS fell asleep after the attack. Since his breathing was okay, we decided to wait a few hours until the clinic (near DTD ) opened. We were there at 8am and seen within 10 mins. The doctor was great, making my son and I very comfortable. We received prescriptions which were filled at the pharmacy right next door and per Dr's OK we were in MK by 10 am.

Welcome back. Sorry to hear that your son was ill. I hope your December trip doesn't include doctors.

I'm planning a December trip, too. I love WDW in December :)

Sorry to hear your son got sick, but glad he recovered. My son has asthma, so I know what it's like. Fortunately, it seems he's outgrowing it. Not to get off topic but, do you find the humidity to be a trigger? My son's asthma usually doesn't get aggravated now unless he has a cold of flu. But I was wondering whether the humidity in Florida makes it worse.

It is hard to say since my son got sick before we even left but I can tell you this, it seemed like every time we went outside when he wasn't 100% better he would cough & cough & seem to have a hard time breathing. I do feel some of that was the humidity.

Thanks for the reply Jacksonsmom. I think I'd better talk to my son's doctor about taking a nebulizer with us just in case. He rarely ever needs a breathing treatment, only when he's gotten the flu, but better safe than sorry since I don't know how he'll react once we're there. I look forward to reading your trip report (wow, 13 days)!:D

I would talk to our son's doctor about it. You never know how he will react to the humidity.

I am almost done with my trip reports on the Trip Reports boards. I have two more days to finish up with :)
