With only one exception, everything went great w/ the DDP!
9/30 - no TS, Casey's for a late lunch.
10/1 - Alfredos, we were prepared for snooty waiters and long waits. None of that happened. Daniel our waiter was fantastic, and the food wasn't bad either. Yes, it was crowded, but the atmosphere was lively and the wandering guitar player stopped by our table to sing and took a picture with my daughter. He refused any gratuity, and was as nice as can be. We really enjoyed it. I was sure to tip extra and stop by the manager on the way out to compliment Daniel and his staff, which he seemed to genuinely appreciate.
10/2 - Hoop de Doo, this we will defiantly do again! Fun food, great (although corny) show, we loved it! Not sure how the seating plan is being assigned, but we were right up on the stage, I'll have pictures later. Our server was great and the food was good. It's COLD in there though. Real cold. I wished I had brought a sweater. Or maybe a parka. Worth 2TS for sure.
10/3 - Boma, my husband loved it (mainly the salmon dish they had that day), the kids and I thought it was OK. Nothing wrong with it, and the server was very attentive (our drinks never ran out) but the food just wasn't us. Zebra domes are indeed yummy.
10/4 - Whispering Canyon Cafe, we loved the rowdiness. My DS16 sucks down soda like no tomorrow (when we let him) so he ended up with a GIANT coke. And he finished it. Lots of running around, singing and napkin twirling. We had the all you can eat skillet and then some. Our server wasn't one of the real rowdy ones (can't remember her name) but she wasn't quiet and shy either. More importantly she kept the food and drinks coming, which is always appreciated.
10/5 - LeCellier, which we loved before. Everything was fine and the steaks were perfect. The server was kind of young (David?) but was obviously trying. There was some kind of mix-up with our desserts, they either didn't print or didn't get entered, so they were delayed, but he let us know what was going on and apologized. Which I can appreciate. Stuff happens, we know that.
10/6 - 50's Prime-Time, DS & I had Pot Roast, DD & DH had fried chicken, and we all polished it off. Our server wasn't quite 'into' the cousin act, but he did make the kids take their elbows off the table, and was very attentive. Very, very good food, and the ceramic poodles at our table were awesome. (The "summer breeze' drink I had was over half vodka, so that may have affected my judgement there though.)
Up until this point, we were very happy with our whole Disney Dining Experience, and had saved our absolute favorite for our last night...
10/7 - O'Hana. Wow. First, I'll have to say the food was very good. When we could get some. Apparently they now run tables with several waiters 'in charge' of you, instead of just one. Which is a complete disaster. I waited tables for many, many years in my 20s, and understand that everybody has to help everybody else out. If somebody else runs out my food, I don't consider my server a 'slacker' I know it was hot and ready, and sent out ASAP. But this was ridiculous. First we got salad and won-tons. 10-15 minutes later our drinks made it. (well, except mine that I had brought from the bar in the waiting area, LOL!) A little later the shrimp and chicken wings come, and my husband ate the shrimp, while the kids ate the wings. They were almost gone, and still no vegetables, potatoes or skewer meats. I noticed that the two guys working the sections were never around, and one girl was getting it all dumped on her, it was pretty sad. Long story short, the rest of the evening went like that, having to ask for EVERYTHING, being told "it's coming right out" and then waiting another 10 minutes before we saw anybody to help us. Dessert came out over a half hour after we stacked the dinner plates at the edge of the table as a 'hint' (and then, yes, ASKED for dessert. Twice.) We were in there for a good two hours. I saw people in other sections that got there well after we did getting dessert while we were trying to get vegetables. If that bread pudding wasn't the best dessert on property, I would have had to complain to a manager. I only didn't because of DH, he can't stand that kind of thing, and it wasn't worth getting in a fight with him over lousy service. I just wished it hadn't been our last night, it killed a little of the mood. We'll probably try it again, since we have had more good experiences than bad there, but that's all I would be willing to subject myself to.
