Just back... EVERYTHING WORKS

Not everyone has theirs working unfortunately. My MDE account is so glitched that 5 people from guest relations spent over an hour trying to get my annual pass to recognize my fastpass bookings to no avail. It had to be escalated to a supervisor at disneys IT department and they said they hope I will be able to use fastpass by my next visit but they are not sure. There is a glitch on my account they have never seen before. They even had to refund and then rwcharge my annual and that did not work either. Because of this I have to go to guest relations each morning or any time I want to transfer parks to get special paper tickets made up. I am grateful the CMs did everything they could to help, but spending over an hour trying to figure out the issue and needing IT to fix my account which will take hopefully a month really left a bad taste in my mouth about FP+. I am an isolated case but it is extremely annoying nonetheless. & a magic band is now useless for me minus photopass because of the issue.

We just got back on Monday. We had the same great experience as the OP.

DH commented about how much more and how much we got done a d how much easier the new system was to use. He was the runner. ;).

When BTMRR went down, within minutes it was converted to a all day FP and we could then start to pull out extras.

At Epcot, I booked a throw away FP for opening, knowing we had a reason we could not make rope drop. Used our SSE and TT FPs and then we were able to book an additional FP for any ride. We could have picked TT again, Soatin' or Maelstrom after only using 2 FP+s.

When inclement weather shut down JC, it was converted to a all day FP and it could be used on HM, Pirates, JC, Carpets and a couple of others. We just kept is and pulled a 4th FP.

Pirates - they can send SB to the other side. Many here have been reporting they cannot.

Been a little discouraged because of all the negative reports about FP+ but I am optimistic about our upcoming trip later this year after reading several recent reports about how successful people have been touring the parks. Hoping our Christmas trip is as magical as it always is! Oh, and what is a throw away FP?

I have no idea what everyone is complaining about with FP+ and Magicbands.
We were former superusers of FP-.
The system works! We had no trouble making, changing, or getting 4th 5th and 6th FP+ over last weeks 5 day trip.
Rope drop remains your best friend, we rode space 4 times before 930 am.
Splash and thunder still walk ons at 10. Changed our FP+ times for these three attractions on the fly to later times in the day WITH NO ISSUE.
We rode TSMM twice at rope drop, keeping our previously scheduled FP+ for 630 PM, and we got right on that 3rd time.
Lines for smaller attractions(Pirates HM) seemed a tad longer, but the high capacity still swallowed those up quickly.
WI-FI in the parks was not spotty, unless you were in a cave or mountain.
We had NO issues with the APP whatsoever. Magicbands worked flawlessly to get into room , into parks, into attractions with FP+, and to charge to our room.
Don't believe the negative hype. I've been countless times with the old system. I was scared to death because of all the negativity around here for the past 5 months.
It was a pleasure to open the app, look at wait times, or make a FP+ reservation without criss crossing all over creation to check return times.
There were plenty of CM's at the kiosks ready to help.Never saw more than ten people in line at a kiosk, and if you went to the next one it might be empty. Knowing where they are is helpful.
The parks were clean, EVERY CM we ran into was helpful, friendly, and in a Disney mood.
It was a great trip.

Glad it all worked out! We had the same type of experience a couple of weeks ago. :thumbsup2

Good to hear wifi and app working well! However, we are going in June and I wonder how easily we'll be able to get decent 4th, 5th, or 5th FPs. I know late June crowds are heavier. Guess I'll find out!

Wow, I didn't know they were doing the all-day FP thing for replacing rides that go down. That's wonderful!

So glad to hear you had a good time, OP. I had been worried with all the trouble (predicted or experienced) I had read about in the last few months, so I'm relieved to see several good or at least neutral reports the past few weeks. I have my fingers crossed that I'll have good luck in a couple of weeks, too!

~Wow! This is such a fabulous review! I totally agree that it's so nice to not have to "criss cross all over creation" -- the way you worded that is just too funny, lol. :lmao:

~It's so unfortunate, that you were scared to go to Disney because of such negativity. I'm so glad that you did not falter, but decided to forge on ahead with your Disney vacation! :goodvibes

~Anyway, thank you so much for taking time to share all of these incredibly helpful details with us! I'm so glad that you and your family had a blast at Disney. I can't wait! :cool1:

We had similar observations a couple weeks ago, all worked great.
~Thanks Dan! It's so awesome that everything worked out great for you! :goodvibes

We had no issues last week with our bands or FP's.

On Friday at MK, we used our first 3 FP+ selections by 2:30pm and were able get to 4 more throughout the day and we also rode a few rides on stand by. Our extra FP's were for the Jungle Cruise (had a 50 min wait), Little Mermaid (had a 40 min wait), Pirates (had a 40 min wait) & one other that I can't recall right now. There were extra FP's available for the everything, including the mountains, into the early evening when we last went to a FP+ kiosk.

For what it's worth, DH is a big fan of the FP+ kiosks. He was our FP "runner" on previous trips and said that he'd rather stand in a short line to get more FP's than run all over the parks to get them like he used to do. Using the app to check wait times is a nice feature too.

We're fans of magic bands and FP+ :cool1:
~Yay! I am enjoying all of these fabulous reviews this morning! I am the runner for my family, as well -- so I can totally relate!

~It is so nice, not having to run up and down all over the park all day -- just to secure fp's. And, I love the MDE app, too!

~Thanks so much for this review, it really is helpful! It sounds like you had a fabulous vacation at Disney World! :goodvibes

~Wow! I can't believe that I'm reading, yet another fabulous review! There are so many here in this amazing thread!

~Anyway, I totally agree that the new system is much easier to use. I love fp+ way better that the old cumbersome fp- system.

~The all day fp+ are super nice -- and you lucked out with two! Thanks so much for the trip review. It's so informative & very helpful. I'm glad you had fabulous time at Disney! :cool1:

Reports like this make me happy. I purposely scheduled my next vacation for the off season, so that if the FP+ wasn't working well I'd have less lines due to the time of year, but it sounds like everything will work just fine.

I'm so sorry you had such a glitchy experience. Systems like this should not go live until they work for EVERYONE. Nobody should spend what it costs to go to Disney and have this sort glitchy mess.

Sounds good! We arrive on June 7th. Hopefully we can use the new system as well as you did! :thumbsup2 We are used to going at lower crowd times, this trip will be our first in June. We are expecting the crowds to be pretty insane. (though I guess not quite as bas as it could be)

I agree. It really is a mess. Disney is lucky that it happened to a disney fanatic who will keep coming anyway but to a first timer I wouldn't be surprised if this would be enough to not return. It really is ridiculous. It's such a system problem that the regular IT people didn't have the authority to touch it so the ticket was written for a head guy to try. Nobody wants to get to the park at rope drop then spend the first hour + hanging out with guest relations as they call every my magic+ expert they know! I really do dislike this new system. I hope it gets better and this doesn't start happening to anyone else. Every ride I go to I need to explain the whole situation and why I have this yellow slip of paper and no viewable fastpass. It slows my whole group up. & before park hopping I have to go back to guest relations to have them add a note in my file to inform the next park of my need for the handwritten ticket vouchers. It's just annoying. The good news is I am allowed 4 tickets initially instead of 3, but then every time I want another fastpass I have to go back to guest relations to have another ticket made up.

Great thread OP! We will be there next week and we're excited that we don't have to run all over the place stressing over getting FP-. I'm very happy with our FP+ selections and even happier that we can get more once the first three have been used. :thumbsup2

One that we booked but never used.

So glad to hear this, going in July and am scared to death we will have tech issues, especially happy to know there are cm's with tablets to help!!! Feeling more optimistic!!!!!!

OP here.going back in March. What's the latest as I haven't really been paying attention?
Everything working as it should? Everything still tiered? 4, 5, 6 FP still working?

Slow and reluctant MDE App.

Slow wifi.

Usual tiers are still in place at the usual parks of Epcot and DHS.

You can still get additional FP+ (1 at a time) after using the first three (or the "manipulating" of the first 3.)
